I know it seems heinous to see a locality go dry. But the only other option is federal control. And that is worse.

I'm from the south and Christian and Lord, yes, booze and socializing. Depends on the congregation, of course, but I got more moralizing about drugs and alcohol at school than at church (read: NONE at church, except about addiction, once). It helps that the unofficial Presbyterian motto is "everything in moderation".

..How d'you have communion in a dry town, anyhow?
