this is why getting hiv medicine to africa is so unimportant. they are so far behind in knowledge and prevention measures for hiv. that's where the battle really is. not free pharmaceuticals.

This may be what Rob's thinking of, although it's possible that every corrupt government in Africa has some idiot(s) in power who believes nonsense like this. South African Minister of Health, "Dr." Mantombazana Tshabalala-Msimang spoke last year of the benefits of garlic, beetroot, lemons and the African potato in fighting HIV.
