And... what are the "effects" in this case? Assuming no driving, I can't think of any.


The Robinsons DID know what was going on so they're not the best example of parents being prosecuted for, say, going on vacation. BTW I lived in Albemarle Co. while their case was going on. They were originally sentenced to 8 years (6 months for each of 16 counts run consecutively). The 27 months was a reduction on appeal. And no I don't think they should have been prosecuted for anything.
