To the People

Actually, the difference isn't is hot women vs. not hot women, the difference is white women in their early 20's vs "women of color" and "women of age".

Stereotypical liberal guilt over white=desireable in advertising.

Hmmmm....I can't believe I'm going to say this but I see their point about this "fantasy rape" ad. It is highly suggestive of gang rape.

I second the gangbang.

I have had my disagreements with NOW but in my mind they are free to object to any ads or whatever they don't like, as we all are. So long as they are not calling for government coercion to ban something I don't see a libertarian problem with their stance and think they are part of a free market of ideas and dissent that is working.

I also find the ad a bit disturbing.

i just had flashbacks to my roomate a few years ago, mario from south beach. the walls were covered with fashion ads..ripped, sweaty, half-naked men all over the place...made masterbation an unsettling event to say the least

I love the "positive" reebok ad: "And So my Fellow Women ask not what you can do for everyone else's happiness, but what you can do for your own". Message: be a selfish bitch, that's a positive image?

DAMNIT!!! those dove ads that are out now with the old ladies drive me nuts. I didn't mind the 'big' women on the previous (as they were still, you know, attractive). But there has to be SOME standard for "beuty". And wrinkly old ladies doesn't make the cut for most people.

wow, all the bigotry and hatred here. No wonder most people don't like libertarians.

Thank you cicero and Leonardo for being sane in your comments.

This ad is disturbing, the body language of the girl makes it more so. She is not engaging the male on top of her, and her lifted back and legs suggest struggle.

z: yes, be a selfish bitch is a positive image, it breaks women out of the societal brainwashing that they are there to "please their man".

This all makes me sad to be a male.

it is somewhat difficult to see what is really going on or intended here...it is a snapshot and frankly, no one in it looks particularly engaged or distrssed.

i'd agree that it may be eye-catching in terms of the circling males and the one female on the ground - though the pinning of her arms seems non-violent at this point. but what would we all say if the roles were reversed and there were some females surrounding a male? don't assume a group of females couldn't take on and violate a man. but perhaps, the main difference then would be the inclination to see it more as fantasy and not violence.

I thought gang rape was the new black? I totally need to revamp my summer collection.

Steve, I'm sure you are also sad to be white and american, that's typical liberal self loathing. Yes women, screw those nurturing instincts, they are not real, just men trying to keep you in your place. Back in the real world, the only people who think american women believe they exist to please their man are the fringe feminist crowd and the male self haters.
