I adored WFB. I started reading his National Review in the early 80s and it was inspiring. I was brought up by left wing unionists and was freed from that dogma in no small part because of Buckley. In those days NR was a radical magazine of bold independent ideas that bears no resemblance to the current NR, which has become a simplistic booster of the Bush administration. |
