I read a good WSJ editorial in the print edition on how the media helped build up Spitzer's ego to the point of him becoming this brazenly stupid.

He was exaulted as a hero for taking on "the big guy" and then never realized and was never called out when he became that "big guy." Obviously, but still confusingly, the media hate the fat cats when they're in the business of business, but now when they're in the business of government.

Maybe I'll post the article if I can find the electrons.
