To the People

How does a country fighting two wars at once (one of which is the third longest in its history) have a pathalogical aversion to war?

I would point out that no one is forcing anyone to die for their ideals. We have an all volunteer force.

I'm open to debate about foreign policy mistakes and the harm military intervention causes to the nation in the long-term, but I'm not going to feel sympathetic to the "our boys dying argument." They deserve praise, but they are doing a job that most enjoy and all choose to do.

If we really were forcing people to serve in the armed forces, I'm all with you. But until then, let the guys make their choices.

I think I regret the "most enjoy" comment. I have nothing to go on other anecdotal evidence and truth be told, I don't think anyone much enjoys being shot at in a desert.

So I strike that.
