You seem so sure these Mennonites are tourists. I'm a Mennonite that meets some, but not all of the stereotypes you describe. However, like you I am not a tourist but live in D.C. (a few blocks from Dupont Circle). Like you, I like to frequent the zoo. Like you, I don't "go back to Pennsylvania." Please don't let your elitism spill over to condemn anyone who dresses different from you and assume they are "tourists."
