I wish the supporters of smoking bans would just be HONEST and admit that it is smoke's annoying smell, not "health," that motivates them.

Nanny's garrot is getting quicker. Just a few years ago, Friendship Heights became a national joke for proposing an outdoor ban on smoking, and former Montgomery councilmember Blair Ewing's proposed apartment ban (if a neighbor complained) was equally derided away. Now they are happening in good ol' left fascist California, but the media critics have gone away. Saddam Hussein was never a threat to our freedom--it's being taken away by our own politicians.
