To the People

Basically your arguement made no sense. Yes, it may be ridiculous that puppet shows are illegal to perform from a window in New York. There are alot of ridiculous laws like that, some of them maybe once had a good reason and are now obsolete. Where my problem with your arguement comes in is that you claim "that a SWAT team could bring overwhelming force into your home for a minor offense." This would never happen. It's called an exateration, you know, for humor. That would be a waste of resources and simply retarded. So before you start praising Diet Mountain Dew for being a Libertarian machine trying to further an agenda, think of it this way. They're a company, they want money, so they're going to make something ridiculous so we remember it and when at the store or when we're thirsty we'll think of Diet Mountain Dew, and ideally buy it.

To Psycho... grammar, spelling, and literacy are a thing to be cherished.

Psycho- A Fairfax County SWAT team accidentally shot to death outside his house a man suspected of betting on sports. For the story, go here:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ article/2007/03/20/AR2007032001132_pf.html

Pssst....it's a commerical.

dont freak out about a commercial gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dam u guys take this blogging thing TOO serious... It wuz a funny commercial.. Y do u think I'm at this page right now.. I had to reserch it myself.. Ha!

Sorry, didn’t have time for spell check. Anyway, Leonardo, good job on posting a dead link. I’ll read it as soon as you post an actual link.

IT is a good link, but the line break inserted a space before the word article that you have to take out once you past it in to your browser.

More to the point, no one has come up with an online version of this commercial yet. Its not on youtube or on the mountain dew proprietary site. They don't even mention that the commercial exists never mind having video up.

I understood that it was posted on youtube but was taken down. HAven't been able to confirm that was so.

Psycho does have a point. It is JUST a commercial. PepsiCo pays some firm to make an ad that is going to sell a product. That firm is only trying to get you to think of the product. Whether they use humor or boobs or violence, that doesn't matter. Just as long as you think of the product. And then buy it.

So maybe the firm that they (PepsiCo) hired does have a "libertarian adgenda", but deep down, their aims are as Capitalist as Exxon: To make dough!

And Leonardo: citing some ridiculous one time screw up doesn't prove a point. I think all of us can agree that the SWAT team wouldn't normally gun down someone or tackle someone unless it was completely neccessary.

I think krida had the most logical view out of everyone!

I found the law- it does exist- but the maximum penalty is $25 or 30 days in jail. No swat team... maybe a court summons at best.

OMG! ITS JUST A COMMERCIAL!
