Well, the flights went as scheduled and we had a bigger plane for the flight from Chicago to San Jose so that was fairly comfortable. The only gliche was the cat... first, checking the cat in seemed to totally confuse the lady at the desk. Second, when we arrived in San Jose no one seemed to know where to pick up cats! I spent nearly 45 minutes trying to locate her. There was no one at any of the desks in baggage claim and when I used the courtesy phone all I could get from American was an endless "push number suchandsuch" and the lady who answered for the general airport info was clueless as well. Finally, I incorporated a security guard because I figured security probably knew where everything was. Yeah, right. At least she tried really hard to help me and stayed with me until we found the cat. They had left her in her carrier on the sidewalk across the street from baggage claim. I don't think she was there very long 'cause the cage wasn't cold and it was pretty cold outside. However, the cat must have adjusted earlier in the day because she seemed quite content and the inside of the carrier was really clean. When we got her home she headed straight for the litter box and has already made friends with the puppy. She's been exploring everything and doesn't seemed traumatized at all. Mom LOVES her new mattress and said that she was actually able to sleep on her stomach without her back hurting; something she apparently hasn't been able to do in decades! Now if I can just teach her the TV remote. It's so confusing! I can't even get it right half of the time!
