I just saw why people have been telling me I look like Jared! I don't know how I missed that September article 
Sloan was convicted of abduction. There were allegations of improper sexual conduct with minor girls, but that was never proven.
Sloan is an embarrassment to chess and it was my understanding the only reason he was elected to the USCF board was the New York backlash vote in retaliation to moving the headquarters to Tennesee.
Ah I see. Didn't know that.
But regardless of this guy's moral shortcomings, if Tanner indeed pumped up his rating this way that shouldn't be overlooked, no? (Ad hominem doesn't absolve the original offense).
