Boylston Chess Club

Gravatar I'm not sure Pete found that post as humorous as others did. Anyway... Dave, you're right: This is probably going to be a multi-year process. There are a number of categories that are 'on the bubble'; they include Cat. 12 (Newspaper Column of Local Interest), Cat. 6 (Correspondence Chess). One possibility is that these categories prove unpopular, and they are replaced with a category to represent the best blogs. This all needs to be worked out. The objective is to reduce the number of categories, not increase them. I think the idea is for blogs to be represented under the Best General Web site. Although I see your point about blogs being a different animal than their more formal cousins, this is the best we can do for now. It's difficult getting all the CJA officials to compromise as it is.

Why can't individual blog posts compete in seperate categories, like you say? If a post is good enough, then it can compete. In fact, there are certain advantages to posting, because there are no space restrictions. The blog as a whole can compete in the Best general Web Site category.

Gravatar Keep up the good work Ho-Go!
