I'd have to say that Philadelphia is probably America's dirtiest city. Its a shame that the World Open and other tournaments that attract international visitors show foreigners the armpit of America.

Congratulations to Lee Silverman and the others involved in this massive program. I think chess is an inherently attractive game to many kids but having a social context in which peers are playing is essential. It seems in Philly they have achieved a critical mass.
