you know i love it when you talk dirty to me

Oooh I get it with the Nick Tosches, I'm an unpoetic reductionist bastard, yeah? Is that why you love me?

I love that line too. Fuck I love all these quotes, makes me wish I were a writer. Especially Parton's. Fuck this i need to start reading.

i agree greg, i don't read enough. this post makes me think i should. i prefer hardbacks though. no idea why. stay open better, i guess, but that's not too important...i read blogs these days more anyway.

Gravatar Liked the quotes . I've put those 3 guys on my list.

Gravatar That one has always stuck with me because that's so how I am. I decorate my house all international, even though I've never been any where!

Gravatar If you like gratuitously violent scenes, try 'Altered Carbon' by Richard Morgan. It's also the best science fiction I've read since Neuromancer.

Excellent.

Gravatar Awesome, thx.

Gravatar The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was great. You got to expereince hallucinogenics without harming your brain ot body.

Gravatar I don't think Crichton's getting formulaic so much as he's writing every novel now with its screen adaptation in mind.

Burroughs's Running With Scissors was excellent... but that line you quoted gives me the heebs (because he's talking about a dude/dude tryst).

Gravatar Oh, you guys who can't handle the gay thing are SO tiresome. I could say more on this, but nothing that's not been said before.

I like the Burroughs quote because he sucks you into the moment with his stylistic prose and pacing. It also does speak to gay attraction too: look, take this, throw a girl and a guy in it and it reads just the same. Funny, that.

Crighton is formulaic in that it always starts out normal in the first half and sinks into unbelievable scenes punctuated with nuggets of his research in the second half. He's still a fun read.

Gravatar Did I come off pissy? I am. I'm editing a manuscript for submission and it makes my eyes sleepy.

Gravatar I just wrote a paper for my sociology teacher saying that for the most part, sexuality is a social construct, and I, or all of us for that matter, could probably be gay or have gay inclinations if we wanted to. Had the anthropological evidence to back it too. I smell an A, unless he's a homophobe. He ain't tho.

Get off the homos are icky train!

Gravatar I'd like to read that...

Gravatar Just when you were starting to get interesting...

Gravatar well i suppose i could send it to you although it is rather boring. I'd rather blog about it and fuck with people's heads again

Gravatar I KNEW you were a reader of Laurell Hamilton.

I knew it.

Gravatar Hey! Satan! I state a disclaimer at the top that I'm doing this as a favor... and I'm really pissy this week, so don't cross me, hear?

greg- boring. right. gotcha.

scott- laurel hamilton... I'm almost ashamed to admit it. but she does make me horny... and I've only read about three of her books. not like I go seek out the latest one or anything.

Gravatar this is your gig- don't blame it on me! i sent you the lame music one, not this. (just cuz you thought i wouldn't see this cuz I'm out of town.)

Gravatar I know, but I was going to blow it off until you said you really wanted to see what I read. Someone showed slight interest and it's all it took for me to blow two hours on a post.

Ok, thirty minutes. But still, I'm lame and desperate for popularity.

Gravatar *yawn* can you do me a favour...
