Personally, if all of my friends were now my enemies and I needed a favor, I'd probably start with the people who didn't particularly like me instead of my enemies. But, if I were out of people who didn't really care one way or the other about me or if my friends were searching for me, then I'd start down the list of enemies. (And it always helps if the enemy happens to owe me a favor.)

I'm thinking not - now, if the girl were dying from an incurable and highly contagious virus...but otherwise, I'm not sure that would motivate me enough.
And, uh, I'm supposed to tell you the hardest books to write are the ones that turn out the best. Yup.

Thx Aerin. I think via a bunch of emails I worked this one out to make more sense. Hopefully.

No they need more motivation. Going to the enemy is a last resort move reserved for the third act.

Motivation does seem to be the key. Best of luck with the plotting!

I think through all this too, I've realized I'm coming up on my crisis, no turning back, no holds bar, every other cliched description point. Thx everybody.
