I don't really care for writing short stories, but I think they'll help me learn to deal with the muddle in the middle and various other plot issues.

I think for me the short form is poetry. I've never loved short stories, either writing or reading, the way I do long stories. And the short story collection I wrote is really some weird hybrid of a novel and short stories.
