On the subject. Jennifer and I signed up for a Costco AmEx card (18% apr, cashback bennefits at certain places, etc). It serves as our membership card and it works at their registers and fuel stations. We went to great lengths to sign up for it... we had to prove our credit history to them. Of course, we haven't held a balance on that card ever. Then, 5-6 months after finally getting on board, they jacked the rate to 24% citing economic conditions. Since we have no inclination to hold a balance, that 24% will mean little to us. It is the principle of the whole deal. Good customers getting the raw end of the rape job.

So, did you cancel the Costco Amex card?
No. It serves as our membership pass to get in and it is one of the few cards they accept at the register. We just pay it off and drink up the cashback bonus.
