There are pictures of us as infants (2 months old or younger) with freckles, so while most cases of freckles do have something to do with sun damage, I doubt severely that it's as bad as a lot of people think it is. Generally, an antioxidant serum and a good sunblock is the trick. Unless you're inside 24/7 you're going to be exposed to sunlight and minimizing damage is the name of the game. I wear sun block from the time I wake up to the time I get ready for bed, and still they've slowly come back. My derm says my best shot for totally obliterating them is Fraxel. Since that could be a huge cost at $1,000 each session & who knows how many treatments would be needed, I'm waiting for now (they seem to think I'd only need 1 or 2 sessions). I would be furious if I had it done & it turned out like the TCA - good at first, but then the freckles would slowly creep back.<br>I'm wishing for an Anne Hathaway/Liv Tyler type of complexion, so these damn spots are just driving me crazy!<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Mikaela's jet-set Beauty | <a href=\"http://mikaelasjetsetbeauty.blogspot.com/\" title=\"http://mikaelasjetsetbeauty.blogspot.com/\">Homepage</a> | 07.10.09 - 11:55 am | <a href=\"#1219724\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1219777\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=6dc9a761f6db5274d5b00afb3fe6c23c&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Thanks, Mikaela, for sharing your routine. They also seemed to have naturally lightened up since I am not out in the sun a lot and I always wear a moisturizer with SPF. When it comes down to it I think if you are unhappy with your freckles then you should do something about it. When I want a more even skin tone but don't want to look too covered up I use Clinique Almost Makeup. It makes your freckles look a lot less noticeable. I use Smashbox photofinish foundation and Halo powder when I want tons of coverage. I'm sure that when I am older I will probably want to completely rid myself of my freckles because I don't think they are too cute on older women, but that is my personal opinion. Congrats on finding a product that works for you Kristen! I will definetly keep that in mind when or if I change my mind about my freckles. <img src=\"http://www.haloscan.com/images/smileys/content.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" /><br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Kimberly | 07.19.09 - 2:54 pm | <a href=\"#1227364\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1227448\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=408302e920ceb4cefc4a04dafbf4ce21&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Share website to you can download movies. However, I'm a regular reader of several other blogs and when those writers decide to take some time away, they just post a quick note saying something like \"Hey ladies, I'm [busy/on vacation/bogged down with word] and will be offline for a bit. I'll be back soon.\" That takes what, 30 seconds to write? Is that too much to ask? Like I said, she doesn't owe us anything, but when you have a regular group of devoted readers it's just common courtesy. I don't mean this to be snarky, but perhaps she has emotional issues? Sometimes she seems so up and excited and posting like mad and then she's just gone...perhaps a bad case of the blues or something. Anyway...I look forward to your return, Kristen.<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> zola | 07.29.09 - 10:03 am | <a href=\"#1235573\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1236613\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=50d2b663e423bd59a2ea6e8d1fd624a9&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" /><a href='http://beautyaddict.blogspot.com/' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'>http://beautyaddict.blogspot.com/</a><br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> mike | <a href=\"http://mikewq.com\" title=\"http://mikewq.com\">Homepage</a> | 07.29.09 - 4:43 pm | <a href=\"#1236613\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1236738\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=9af5d6c70faab1a93e694261a6a21455&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Maybe she used too much of that fade gel and she disappeared along with her freckles.<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Andrea | 07.29.09 - 9:06 pm | <a href=\"#1236738\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1236751\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=96e00f8688f5b2429fd63fffcf00252c&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Zola- Agreed!<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Stacey | 07.29.09 - 10:24 pm | <a href=\"#1236751\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1242833\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=9f792d34f6c71f97d9a53753c040540a&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />I completely understand wanting to get rid of them. Part of the time I forget that they're even there! And they're great for hiding imperfections like zits<img src=\"http://www.haloscan.com/images/smileys/content.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" /><br>But I understand why you got rid of yours. My favorite look is the porcelain face-white, clear, even complection, with doll faced make up to complete it. I wish I could achieve this look, but my freckles stand in my way. I try not to think about that, and embrace what I have.<br><br>But I also get that whole red head with freckles stereotype. Having red hair, it makes me want to puke when I see a trashy red head. I actually hate red hair on anyone but myself. Call me vain, but I don;t think anyone can pull it off as well as me. Probably because I've seen too many trashy red heads<img src=\"http://www.haloscan.com/images/smileys/content.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" /><br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Jessica | <a href=\"http://brokeforamonth.blogspot.com/\" title=\"http://brokeforamonth.blogspot.com/\">Homepage</a> | 09.05.09 - 5:28 pm | <a href=\"#1259697\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1266291\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />i've always had freckles, and i like them! it makes me myself, simply put! i am a big fan of natural looks and being happy with your natural self, so of course i feel this way. i would just like to remind everyone that nothing is more sexy than someone who is confident in their own skin!!<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> kay | 09.16.09 - 1:38 am | <a href=\"#1266291\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1269705\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=85bef0f2818738197467a4cab94eb17d&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />I don’t have freckles per say but I do have a lot of hyper pigmentation from the sun. It has always been very embarrassing. I get really dark skin right above the lip and on my cheeks. Some days it was so bad that I didn’t want to leave the house. It looked like I had a mustache tattooed on. I received a Skin Print as a gift from my mom. They took several types of images of my face. I couldn’t believe the sun damage that wasn’t even visible. They suggested their Make-Over serum to help with my dark spots. My hyper pigmentation has almost completely disappeared. I feel so much better about myself.<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Jackie | <a href=\"http://shop.skinprint.com/Sun_Damage_Repair_1_oz_p/f-18.htm\" title=\"http://shop.skinprint.com/Sun_Damage_Repair_1_oz_p/f-18.htm\">Homepage</a> | 09.24.09 - 3:22 pm | <a href=\"#1269705\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"1293109\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=fe3b5e6a16786dfe8567de07205a2f59&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />I have freckles and im 14.
