You forgot condoms.

Gravatar The only thing I would add is lip balm to say kissy soft.

Gravatar extra pantyhose

Gravatar snacks! i know so many brides who say they barely eat all day.

Gravatar I had the same exact tote for my wedding survival kit! I loved it and it was jam packed! I'm one of those "prepared for everything" people.

Two suggestions to add: A bottle of your perfume (to smell yummy for your hubby) and a box of drinking straws (so you can all sip champagne while getting ready without messing up your lipstick)!

Gravatar What about your fake tan top up towels? Don't want to look pasty and white!

Gravatar I wish we had thought of the packing tape...my stepson had to have the hem of his tux stapled when it fell out right before the ceremony! It does make a great photo op, though I would add bringing some chilled grapes to munch on...good snack, but helps when you are thirsty, as well.

Gravatar I think eye drops would be a good idea. The bride-to-be could put a couple of drops of clear eyes in before she walks down the aisle and then when she cries (if she does), her eyes won't be all red.

Gravatar The Tide Pen is a LIFESAVER. My sister was helping me put on my dress on my wedding day, and accidentally got my straps twisted over my head and I got foundation and lipgloss on my dress. Crisis! My mom came in and gently coaxed me down from the ledge while applying Tide Pen (yes, to a silk dress!) and it worked! You could not tell at all the whole night that anything - much less sticky lipgloss - had been anywhere near it. This is my #1 Bridal Emergency Item from now on - I give it as a gift to every bride I know.

Gravatar Great ideas everyone! Two of my best friends are getting married this summer and I will be sure to make a survival kit for both! Thanks!

Gravatar This is an excellent post - my coordinator's Trunk o' Emergency items really saved the day at my wedding.

Gravatar I would add deoderant to the list as well.

Gravatar A pre-nup.

Gravatar Snacks and drinks... My sister didn't have a chance to eat at all. My friend had her husband sign a "future living expectation".

Gravatar I am a long-time reader, but your latest posts have been my FAVORITES!!! I am loving this blog right now. Keep it up!

Gravatar A spoolie brush. Good for taming eyebrows and smoothing hair at parts and hairlines, on gentlemen and ladies. ALso Claritin or Zyrtec in case of allergy to the flowers.

Gravatar This kit looks really perfect!

Gravatar Perfect kit Kristen...Perfect.

Mary...who would you need condoms if you are getting married?? LMAO

Gravatar I always pack a needle with white dental floss instead of the entire sewing kit, it works great in a pinch on the wedding dress! Also, for snacks I pack the pre-portioned snack bags so they are easy to grab and hand out.

Gravatar I did this for my best friend.

Add scissors for sure!

I'd suggest adding a little bottle of lotion in case her skin is dry.

And a pen and notepad in case you have to make a list or just write something down!

I also had a mini-lint brush, but the tape works too!

The only thing from my huge kit that we ended up using is tissues, scirrors and a the straws. But I was ready!

Gravatar Lactaid pills if the bride is lactose intolerant! I know I could easily forget something like that on my upcoming big day, and without those pills, I can't enjoy a lot of things.

Gravatar On that note, peptobismol. You can get chewables which are easier, and less messy than the liquid. Nothing like an upset stomach to ruin the big day,

Gravatar thanks

Gravatar For feet:
Talc powder -works on freshening up sweaty areas, esp for uncomfortable sweaty feet
Duck tape -works and sticks better than band aids on feet, use alone to prevent blisters or with a tissue/cotton ball like a proper band-aid. Get the white duck tape and it will work great as a multi-tasker for taping flower stems together, hems, etc

Gravatar Hey Kirsten! Where've you been all week?! It's Friday already, and no posts!

I need my daily beauty tips

Gravatar Imodium

Gravatar Well thats Really help Full ...

Gravatar LOTION! The bride and groom should each lotion up their ring fingers right before they head down the aisle. Nerves and not hydrating and sweaty palms make for some difficult "with this ring" times -- this solves the problem every time.

And don't forget to send a small kit with the groom and groomsmen! (They pretty much just need mints and tape and lotion and snacks.)

Gravatar Someone gave me a mini hand-held fan, the kind that just needs a few AA batteries. It was great!

Gravatar Gotta have the condoms so that your girls can have fun during the cocktail hour- it ain't ALL about you that day!

And a disposable camera in case the batteries die in your digital one...

Gravatar thank you for this! my sister is getting married soon and she'll love this post.

Gravatar Personally, I would take gum off the list. I work in the wedding industry and I cringe when a beautiful bride or bridesmaid is wearing a gorgeous dress with their hair and makeup done and then goes and kills the whole effect by chawing down on a wad of gum. If your breath stinks just pop in something discreet like a tic tac.

Gravatar Blister pads. Those Jimmy Choos may look ah-mazing, but they certainly might not feel it! Also, maybe some Listerine Pocket Mist. I agree with Elisabeth, gum might not be so great, and Pocket Mist is a great alternative to sugary Tic Tacs which over time, actually increase the smelliness of your breath.

Gravatar Matching nail polish. Nothing is worse than a big old chip in the bride's polish!

Gravatar If you hire a professional makeup sure they have all these items in your kit, they do all the work and you just sit back and relax, but make sure you get a consultation first and please dont get your makeup done at the counter on your wedding day

Gravatar My quest for the perfect red LipSense long lasting lip color continues. Today the combination is two coats of Red Cherry LipSense and one coat of Blu red LipSense long lasting lip colors. I call the new color Crimson Red LipSense and it is gorgeous! This color is perfect for your wedding day! This is the most awesome lip color. It is semi-permanent, which means it stays on your lips for 12-14 hours or until you wash it off! What a pretty combination! Blu Red LipSense can be just a bit bright but when you have Red Cherry LipSense on the bottom, it tones the Blu Red down. To order go to http://www.senegence.com/celebritymakeup

Gravatar Safety Pins are great to, helped one of my bridesmaids with her strap

Gravatar Hi - I got married yesterday, and I second adding Imodium to the list...ahem. I wasn't nervous, but no one told my digestive tract the day before or of. 'Nuff said. xoxo

Gravatar I definitely recommend a pen. At my best friend's wedding, no one brought a pen (including the officiant) so they couldn't sign the certificate. Luckily, I threw one in my makeup bag that morning and I got to save the day!

Gravatar This is a great post! I also work in the event planning industry, and I would definitely add baby wipes (for quick and easy clean ups for hands, spills, make-up smudges, etc.) I always keep a pack in my purse. And, I agree with the snack comments. Definitely some snacks like Clif Bars, crackers, and anything that won't get stuck in the beautiful bride's teeth!
I love this post.
Cicely

Gravatar Great tips on here! I'm getting married in about 6 weeks so I will nudge my maid of honor in this direction. I would add back-up hosiery to the list, nothing worse than getting a ladder.

Gravatar im getting married to my highschool sweetheart in a few months so this post really helps, thanks!

Gravatar Okay, so I definitely think you NEED to add a list of all phone numbers (there should be many floating around but it definitely needs to be packed in that bag as well.)I've coordinated several weddings and having the hair stylist, facialist, manicurist, etc. phone numbers at arms reach is key just in case you have any emergencies. A lot of women get the spa package at Red Door Spa, and it always seems to happen that they get a makeup smudge or a hair messup. Having those numbers handy in case of emergency is a life saver.

Gravatar Hey what a great idea!! My daughter has a similar thing she calls her
everything bag" and she keeps this at all times. She has everything from bobby pins to q-tips to matches to batteries, tampons, safety pins. oh my goodness you name it and it is in there. Toothpicks...toothpate..toilet seat covers...it is rather comical until I need something.

Kim Granger

Gravatar I always suggest having something for the flower girls and/or ring berriers to get them down the aisle. I find that a lollipop to keep in their mouth is something handy to give the parents, which happen to be at the end of the aisle. "Want a lollipop sammy? Walk down the aisle to your mommy!"

Works like a charm, and keeps them quiet during the ceremony!

Gravatar Just wanted to say thanks for the article. I created one of these bags with my sister (my MOH) and it was brilliant to have on the day. My angora cardigan moulted all over my husband's suit. But we had lint removal so no fluff visible in the photos!

Gravatar Hi!

Well I bruise as easily as a peach so I recommend including Bruise Relief in your wedding day survival kit. It's nice and smooth and goes on like a lotion. Let's say the bride bumps into the door or wall and you don't want a bruise to form on your wedding day! All she has to do is smooth a bit of lotion immediately on the spot and no bruise forms! I swear. I didn't believe it either, but trust me, I'm no longer covered in bruises!

Gravatar Thank you for the ideas!!! You might want to add a Colgate Wisp that would come in handy because you don't need water and it's quick. I'm 2 months away from my big day and this really helped.

Gravatar GREAT list ladies! I would suggest adding Wine Out or Wine Away in case of disastrous red wine spills. It works miracles in removing red wine from all fabrics, silk, satin, etc. =)

Gravatar Skip the sewing kit and just bring clear thread and a needle. You can get it at any craft store. It is great for rips in dresses or suits (no color matching required), beadwork coming off, headpieces in need of repair, boutonnieres, buttons, shoe straps and purses. Everything. At my good friend's wedding, her Uncle, who is a doctor, even used it to stitch up a male guests hand after it was sliced open on a broken glass. The nearest hospital was nearly 2 hours away. Without the stitching and a bandage he would have bled to death on the way. (He is fine and has almost no scar; just in case you were wondering.)

Gravatar Thanks so much every one , Ive been so focused on trying to make the groom happy by having a pagan wedding (which means that i have been buried neck deep in pagan wedding how 2's) , that i completely forgot about any thing else. And knowing myself and my hubby to be , we will encounter several problems , and neither one of us would have thought to pack any of the above listed stuff. Those tips on wine away ,bruise relief, visiene , and claratin are genius! Thanks again every one ,y'all saved my wedding, when i didn't even know it needed saving. = )

Gravatar I found a site that has some cute items that would go with this.. nice bridal cosmetic case set that I got for my friend and cosmetic mirror that says bride on it.... www.pinkorchidnyc.com/shop....

Gravatar What about someone strong to carry all of this around for you? LOL

Gravatar I would definetly have a Steamfast Compact steamer handy. My old roomate's wedding was in New York at the MTV studios and we flew there from Florida. Thank goodness they had our dresses steamed there beacause they were satin and had a lot of wrinkles from traveling. You can get the Steamfast compact steamer at Target for $24.99 so everyone in the bridal party will be dressed to perfection. Oh and i would also add snacks..stay away from snacks that cause bloating like greasy foods and wheat or dairy.

Gravatar I forgot one more thing! Philosophy lip scrub. It is amazing and completely necessary for all the kissing that will be going on. I use it daily but there would be nothing worse that having dry chapped lips on your wedding day! I noticed it also helps for better lipstick application.

Gravatar Thanks for the information about beauty.

Gravatar Static Guard, and Downy Wrinkle Releaser.

Gravatar Each day more and more people are using online to learn something. Most of them are looking for wedding information. I think this is really helpful.

Gravatar With the deodorant, I would recommend a roll on or spray. There is nothing worse than finding that your emergency deodorant has fallen apart or melted.

Gravatar Great! You actually gave me a tip. Well, i need to bookmark this for future use.

Gravatar I am getting married next March and getting a jump start on the planning. Here is an idea i came up with that may help other brides. Instead of big boquets for my girls I am giving them small nosegays and a small handbag with a wrist strap. I got travel size and the small packages of the absolute essentials including mini ziploc bags for the loose stuff and plan to make a mini emergency kit, the tide pin, safety pins, mints, asprin, lip gloss, etc... This way it is fassionable and the girls have a fix to most problems no matter where they are. At my best friend's wedding the strap of one of her girls dresses broke DURING the ceremony and she was very 'gifted' luckily each girl had pinned a safety pin to the inside just under her arm, so she turned, pinned and done. I'd rather see a girl slip an allergy pill, descretely in her mouth or someting than having everyone notice a problem. I also suggest giving each girl a handkerchief because crumpled tissues look a bit out of place and tear stains down the cheeks takes away from it. Hope this helps I LOVE planning weddings and I'm FULL of ideas so I am glad I can share this.
