The only problem is that whatever good ingredients are in there won't stay stable because of the jar packaging. I wish all face stuff came in dark pumps!

I know! So much more stable, and hygienic, too.

If you like the face cream, try the Mega Mushroom face serum. The Cleanser is great (creamy, soothing) and also the lotion- a lighter-weight version of the cream.
There are more Weil for Origins products coming out in the summer too- keep your eyes peeled, its a great line.

ah, temperamental skin, I completely relate to waking up with disasters from new purchases. with all the advertising and pretty packaging, and astronomical claims, its so hard NOT to want to try something new. It takes a lot of will power to stick to something that works! this was my new years resolution!

Oh - I hate it when I have a reaction to something I am testing out. Luckily, it happens mostly never with my skin, which too, is sensitive.
Try this next time, Kristen. Test the product on the underside of your arm, or on your hand, or near the wrist. If after a few days of using it there with no reaction, you should be safe to use it on your more delicate face.
And the Origins cream is on my list for must-trys!

I really started thinking lately about all the chemicals that go into products and how good are they for your body, even though some may make our skin look great on the outside. Check out this month's issue (April)of Town & Country - it has their top 75 beauty products that are either natural or organic. It also lists some of the bad chemicals that are in products, and what they can do or cause and each of their top products they have listed they state what bad chemical is NOT in the product. Very good to know!

Kristen, could you do a quick run-down of your own skincare routine? Or let us know where that might be archived? Thanks!!

Origins Megamushroom serum is the best I've found for my type of rosacea -like skin issues. Works better than prescriptions.

No matter how unhip or far-from-trendy it might sound, I haven't been able to find anything that works better for my super-sensitive skin than Cetaphil.

I agree with your Kristen. I get so many skin care products to review it gets a little overwhelming.
I recently tried one product sent to me that made my skin itch so bad I wanted to just rip my skin off. I tried the product a few times thinking it may have been a fluke, but kept getting the same reaction. I feel bad when the company keeps contacting me to write my review and I keep reiterating that I had such a bad experience that I really don't feel comfortable writing about it--especially when I've seen my fellow beauty bloggers writing rave reviews.

Hey Kristen, I was wondering if you ever used this mask called Sekkisei Beauty Mask? It's a black peel off mask. If you have, what results did you have? I've been meaning to buy it but I don't want to spend money on a beauty product that won't go well with my skin.
Thanks!

What I totally love about your blog (and why I come back) is that you sound completely authentic in your product reviews and commentary, without being malicious or rude. Thank you.

I am glad you like that too - that line is one of the best I have ever used... I love Dr. Weil! Hope you are doing well, Kristen!

Megan's right. Cetaphil's the best for sensitive skin (and #1 with dermatologists). It's also VERY affordable.

Gen - I've never tried that mask! Sounds good though. Anyone else, have you tried the Sekkisei? Let Gen know your opinion in the comments!
Rachel - thank you! What a lovely compliment.
Megan & CC - I must be the only person alive who doesn't love Cetaphil. It leaves a film on my skin that I can't stand. I've tried over and over but I just can't on the Cetaphil bandwagon. Wish I could - would definitely save me some money!

Kristen, I have to side with you on Cetaphil. I just don't like the leftover filmy feeling, even though it often gets rave reviews. Just goes to show, it takes all kinds!
As for Sekkisei, I've tried a number of the items, but not the mask. Speaking of film, I find this brand to be a little filmy.

Yes, Doctor lines are the BEST. It makes sense too. Why would companies like Chanel and Dior know skincare better than Dr. Weil (Origins) or Dr. Gross (MD Skincare)??? Not to trash the others, but derms do know the skin best!!!

Gen~ I recently read the beauty snob's post about the black mask, and now I want to try it to. Maybe if you read her post it would give you more info.

I haven't tried the Origins Mega-Mushroom face cream, but it looks like a good one!
I have very sensitive skin, also, and I agree with you about regular Cetaphil. I like the Cetaphil for normal to oily skin. It's still very mild, but it leaves your skin feeling clean.
I love your blog, too, and would be curious to find out your skin care routine!

Hello! , I just wanted to comment about my experiences with Origins and Dr. Weil mushroom line of products, and ask anybody if breakout occurred.
I bought a whole regime of Origins (Face cleanser, toner, serum, a.m. moisturizer and night moisturizer), everything was working awesomely, my face (Im 28 but a smoker) showed less wrinkles, which are really my expression lines; marked expression lines, anyways, I did not suffered from bad acne or nothing like that (only as a teenager) but my face is kind of picky, meaning I do have reaction to sweat, this reaction being a red pimple, a DEEP painful pimple, or just a line of pimples predominantly around my T-line; so I started my Origins regime and like I stated before, everything was great, now on May 20th this year I switched my whole line to Dr. Weils mushroom line ( Cleanser, toner, serum and lotion....AM and PM) with the dermabrision 3 times a week....It started great but now it seems that the cleanser is kind of heavy on my skin and I am starting to break out, again, around my T-zone, some of these pimples are DEEP painful ones and some are small but with the yellow stuff in them...they're all accompanied by the redness though.............It has not been a month since I switched and been using this line so I do not know if my skin is just getting adapted or some of the products on the line are just way to heavy on my pores.......I am not extremely sensitive but again, my face skin tends to react to certain stimuli.
Should I use the products just once a day? should I keep using them twice a day with the exception of the cleanser, or should I drop any other product?
Any input is highly appreciated!
Thank you all!
