I think you should totally ignore any "where are you?" comments. You have a life, other people need to get one. Too many people are living fake lives, i.e., "electronically." Get outside, smell the fresh air, wander through the cosmetics aisles at your local dept. store or drugstore and LIVE a little.
You can remedy this quite easily by calling your blog "An occasional commentary on beauty products for beauty addicts." Or something like that. I think you should care about your audience but you are the driver of your blog, not your audience. Right??? Right!

I feel like my blog is too young to get the crazy "post more often!" comments. Just ignore the crazies, sometimes you need some time for yourself or can't update. If people don't understand that...then they need some serious help.
I think I liked it better when you weren't writing... if you enjoy your readers' praise, you should respect their feedback too.
Lordy, people, don't forget sometimes life gets complicated. We all have times when we can't work.

I know exactly what movie that phrase is from; Practical Magic! One of my favorite movies and that phrase is uttered at the end of the movie when the narration is being spoken by Sandra Bullock.
I wish I liked the look of these types of diffusers. I've smelled so many wonderful ones, but the sticks remind me of incense sticks, which remind me of stinky hippie dorm rooms... anyway, I may need to get over the association and try this one out- in the lemon grass or tangelo, mmmmmm!

I'm quite amused by the flipping out some of your readers are doing. It doesn't seem they get that blogging isn't a public service but a personal hobby. We blog because we love doing it and it's our passion, but we're not under any obligation to do so.
(At least they comment out of love, which is better than some of the persoanl hate mail I get after almost every celebrity fashion post. But that's another story).
Reed difusers are so wonderful. This one looks extra tempting. Unfortunately, they aren't cat-friendly. I have a herd of the beasties running around and knocking stuff off. I can only do oil in lamp rings.

Glad to have you back To some of the earlier posters, I think that she was saying that she was amazed and how worked up people get because there were actually people saying that, because of her absence, they weren't going to keep reading this blog. I think that her comment is completely warranted - it isn't like she HAS to write this for people, she does it sort of as a public favor. I missed her too, but some people need to chill.

I don't think anyone's being aggressive or turning against anyone. Just seems a little strange--this is one of the most prominent beauty blogs, I think--to take such long breaks and just, kind of disappear. Perhaps you need an assistant?
I wonder if the diffuser would be a bit much for my officle (a glamorous word to describe the gray carpeted walls that are closing in on me)?

does anyone use igoogle? You create your own pages that you fill with RSS feeds of your choice. I have a page for libraries, a page for politics/elections, current events, legal news, etc. that I use for work. I also set up a page for music, and style! All the style blogs I follow are on the same page (Go Fug Yourself, NY Times Style page, Beauty Addict, Now Smell This, In Style). I look at it once a day for any new posts. As someone who checks blogs not just for fun but FOR A LIVING- this saves you from having to check for updates constantly they just appear on a page together. And that way you don't have to have a conniption fit if someone doesn't post anything new for a while.

What is funny to me is that you think that your comments are going to make Kristen think "oh, yes...I should write more, people are pissed." Come on! If anything, she will write less becaue she is ANNOYED by all of you that hound her. This is her space and she can do whatever she wants.

ofcourse kristen can do whatever she wants. she just has to realize that if she writes rarely and writes dull stupid blogs, not as many people will read. if anything, she should be thankful to people who actually tell her whats wrong rather than just stop visiting which is what most do.
