We cosmetic chemists continue to look for molecules to replace DHA but haven't had any luck so far. Perhaps soon though.<br><br>As for preventing blotches that's just a skill you have to figure out. The chemical reaction starts happening right when you put the ingredient on. It's slow so you can still wipe it off. But if you put more in one spot, it'll make a darker color.<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Left Brain | <a href=\"http://thebeautybrains.com\" title=\"http://thebeautybrains.com\">Homepage</a> | 05.27.08 - 12:15 pm | <a href=\"#855263\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"855592\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=166a51a887c977c1df5a7f42a7678589&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />I love the Bare Bronze line!<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> Adiel | <a href=\"http://triplyksis.blogspot.com/\" title=\"http://triplyksis.blogspot.com/\">Homepage</a> | 05.27.08 - 2:32 pm | <a href=\"#855592\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"855692\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=1630907ffeaaf33ed8a50c4aea7ecd1a&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />I was actually complimented on the smell of my lotion the other day - and it was self-tanner! I am a big fan of Xen-Tan, and their many formulas have smells ranging from cherry to chocolate to vanilla. Also, if you combine the dark tanning lotion with some neutral body lotion (Eucerin, for example), the smell is reduced.<br><br>Now, for the splotches. My technique, not at all original to me, I am sure, does work. I take one half of a pair of non-latex surgical gloves -- the thin purple ones work best for me -- and apply the self tanner first to the exposed hand. Then I move on to the arm, the shoulder, leg and any area I can reach comfortably. By this time the treated hand is dry enough to cover, which I do by peeling back the glove just enough to insert the hand with the tanner on it. I then apply the lotion to the new hand and all of the areas accessible to that hand. When I get to the feet, elbow, etc. I make sure to cut the tanner 50/50 with body lotion. No splotches, and no tanned palms.<br /><br/><span class=\"byline\"> JustJoan | 08.29.08 - 1:01 pm | <a href=\"#955274\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"960639\" style=\"font-size: 12px\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=1106b1f04a1dab316f65ceef6903d721&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=R&amp;size=30\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: left;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Recently I received an email directly from SeneGence, makers of Lipsense entitled: A bronzing Makeover for Endless Summer Sun. I decided to create my own self tanner. It took a few years but it is tan/not orange. The fragrance is amazing and I made it with vitamin e to moisturize the skin along with vitamin a. The main base is aloe vera jel. If you have ever tried to rub on a self tanner it can be a mess. This Platinum Premium Tan is in a can that sprays a fine mist.
