Gravatar Jergens has had the best results for me so far, but I'm not a fan of the scent, but I'll have to try this one. Thanks!

Gravatar I found this one to be definitely on the more potent side of the "glow" lotions, which can be good - I just have to remember to watch out for streaks.

Great series of reviews! You're saving us all a lot of trouble

Gravatar Thank you for you reviews! I love your blog.
I never understood how exactly to use those tanners. Every summer I buy one, use it once and stop because of the funny strokes I have later on my legs.

How to do it right?!

Gravatar I have to try this one, I hope it's available in Sweden thanks fo a great review!

Gravatar This one is my favorite! I threw out all the others when I discovered it! Thanks for the great reviews-- I check this site every morning!

Gravatar HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEAUTY ADDICT!!!

Gravatar I just started using Sublime Glow after reading some of the comments when you first announced your Fake Bake Month. (Thank you, loyal followers of the BeautyAddict!!) I am super pale so I use the one for Fair skin tones, but it gives me such a nice, even, non-OompaLoompa, natural-looking tan. I hope you will cover some facial tanners. I tried the Jergens one for face - it's awful!! It stinks, feels gross, and isn't building any color.

Gravatar sarahbretlyn, i have red hair and freckles, curious when you say you're pale how pale you are? trying to gauge which shade i should try (fair or beauty addicts medium) thanks!

Gravatar I love these reviews and find it saves me moolah not having to try every one of them. I'll definitely try Sublime Glow. I find Jergens goes orangy on me eventually. Out of the really inexpensive ones, I liked Vaseline's version. Color was identical to Dove's but had a better non self tan scent.

Gravatar I'm going to need to try this one... And, happy birthday Beauty Addict!

Gravatar Happy Birthday! Thanks for the great site. I love it!

Gravatar Stephanie - I have brown hair and blue eyes but I'm just as pale as my red-haired boyfriend! I usually wear the lightest colors of foundation and concealer. My skin doesn't really tan, it just freckles, burns, then heals to a very slightly darker shade. When I use the Sublime Glow I only put it on two or three times then wait a few days since a dark tan looks really fake on my skin. If you want something darker or faster-acting, I'd go with Medium, but if you want to have more control over the color, I'd say stick with Fair. Hope this is helpful!

Gravatar you should take a picture everyday to show before and after pics! would love to see them

Gravatar Stephanie - I fully agree with Sarahbretlyn's suggestion of going with the Medium if you want something darker or fast acting, but sticking with the Fair if you want more control or a lighter tan. It seems she and I have the same coloring, too...super pale! I like the Medium because I'm impatient, but the the quality of the Fair is just as good...it's just lighter. Hope that helps!

Gravatar Again, from one May baby to another... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Gravatar Happy Birthday Kristen!!

I have a question, and I'm sure other readers of your blog suffer from this as well- I have keritosis pilaris (those terrible litte bumps) on the backs of my arms. I am really excited about all of these reviews, but am worried that it's going to make my arms worse! I used the Boots gradual tan you recommended and it definitely worsened my bumpy arms
Anyone have any suggestions??

Gravatar I just bought this last night after finishing the Olay and this one wins hands down! can't add anything to what you have said and I too am a sucker for teh shimmer

great series, by the way

Gravatar Happy Birthday Kristen!

Gravatar Happy Birthday!!!!

Thanks for this great blog, for which it had opened my eyes to the world of Beauty Blogs. *hugz*

Gravatar Happy Birthday, Kristen Hope it's the best!

Gravatar I agree w/you 100%! Love this stuff!!!

Gravatar Happy Birthday Kristen! As always, great blog, great job with your reviews. How's the leaderboard coming thus far? Enjoy the beauty of today, your birthday, and everyday.
Kirsten

Gravatar You may want to re-check your math while tallying the votes for St. Tropez. Your amended score is 22/30. According to the scores listed, I am only coming up with 20/30. Am I missing something?

Gravatar kristen your blog is awesome, and i am a tanning addict myself! pls do a review of sublime bronze (a reg tanner unlike the sublime glow). i value your expertise!

Gravatar It sounds like this moisturizer tanner works really well, but I'm afraid to use it. After trying the Jergens gradual tanner, I may be scarred for life. The smell actually made me sick. Does anyone think this one might be a little bit better?

Gravatar A very similar post written on May 18th: http://sgbabes.com/2007/05/18/l%...ly-moisturizer/

Gravatar happy late birthday!!!!!!

Gravatar Those posts are disturbingly similar- any explanation or comment?

Gravatar Sgbabes is made up entirely of stolen content, it seems. Do a google on their other posts to see evidence of this. Besides, it's clear that Kristen's post went up before the Sgbabes one.

Gravatar You're right about the dates- I didn't mean to imply that Kristen was copying. I was wondering if there had been a reposting agreement between the sites.

Gravatar this stuff is great on the color and glow-but is sticky and feels gross on the skin long after application. I definitely prefer the St. Ives product.

Gravatar Sorry Anon, I didn't mean to jump on you like that. Plagiarism just bugs me so much... hopefully it's an agreement between the blogs, but it seems really doubtful given the poor 'editing' they did. Ah well, at least now we know.

Gravatar thanks for all the tips from my fair skinned friends! can't wait to try!

Gravatar Anyone tried the Sublime Glow for face? I'd love to know if it works well, esp. for pale gals like me. The Neutrogena Summer Glow stinks like heck, I can't take it anymore!

Gravatar Anon, Glitterati, Cara - thank you for the heads up on the SGbabes post. I was unaware of it, and there is certainly no re-posting or "sharing" agreement between our sites. I'd never even heard of SGbabes.com until this was brought to my attention. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is rampant on the internet, and sadly, difficult to fight.

Gravatar Also wonderful >>>>>>
L'oreal Self-tanning wipes! Like baby wipes; fast; no smell; gorgeous Floriday tan by the next morning; no streaks, not even on feet! Portable for trips and vacays . I use two packets. TIP: I got these on a BOGO deal at CVS plus they let me use two $1.00 coupons!

Gravatar Just tried this and really like it. It has a much better scent/much less of a DHA stink than Jergens and Dove, and for me it dried really quickly. I, too, am super pale, and I only use the self-tanner on my legs so that I don't look like shark bait in a skirt, so I definitely use the "Fair Skin" formula so that my legs don't look too different from my arms (which always get more color than my legs). I'm also a big fan of the Michael Kors Leg Shine, which also covers up almost all DHA smell if you put these lotions on in the morning-- it's just a subtle shimmer with a nice scent, not a tanner.

Gravatar This was just way too glittery for me. So far I am having no luck with the self tanners - Loreal was too stinky and sparkly, Boots built no color. Now I'm on to the Olay Overnight.

Gravatar Hi Kristen, you're most welcome. I absolutely HATE plagiarism too, and it's so blatant on that site. I was intrigued by your review and wanted to learn more about your product, that's how I found it.

Love your blog, by the way!!

Gravatar I recently bought this for the night of my prom just because it was last min. I applied it in the morning and by the evening my glow was on! ah thanks for the review it was great help =]. BTW Jergens was horrible i tried it a week ahead of my prom and discovered it smelled and streaked like no tommorrow thank god it went away.

Gravatar I had been wanting to try a gradual tanner so I went with this one based on your reviews. It's awesome!! I am one of those extremely fair skinned girls that can actually tan really well so I went with the one for medium skin. ( also because I am extremely impatient) I didnt expect to see much color after the first application, but I was wrong!! Overnight I could see a huge difference and by the second application it was a beautiful color! The first application was a bit streaky but thats probably because I didnt expect it to really do anything so I just kinda slapped it on haphazardly... so word to the wise!!
Thanks for all your reviews!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar OMG i love this too! Its smoothes on so easily and i love how the shimmer makes my skin sparkle in the sun! I also love how natural the color is!

Gravatar Does the spray version of this (L'Oreal Sublime GLOW Mist) last longer than the lotion version with daily bathing? I feel like far too much comes off in the bathtub regardless of if I shave or not. I find this to be a true bronze with a hint of pink and yellow. How does it compare to St. Tropez colorwise?
