I got teary during "This Land...", but also during U2. Who cries for Bono? Me, I guess!
Oh, I cried during U2, too, K. I excused myself by saying it was really my 14-year-old self doing the crying. You know, back in the day when catching "Pride (In The Name of Love)" on MTV meant it was going to be a Really Good Day.
Yeah, we did both of those too.
I grew up on Pete Seeger. And that song. Including the "no trespassing" verse.

Husband just found a different one on Youtube after I told him he had to go watch it.

I couldn't see the concert (durn HBO wouldn't give it to us free in Canada) but I found a bunch of clips last night before the durn HBO lawyers yanked most of them.

It's really unfortunate that HBO has decided that this particularly beautiful piece of music can't be shared. We caught it this morning somewhere, but now it's gone.
kathy a., thanks for posting that alternate link. We don't have a TV, and I only had the vaguest knowledge of the concert's existence (though we'll be watching the actual inauguration tomorrow AM on streaming video), and I just watched that clip and sobbed all the way through it like you wouldn't believe. I didn't know I was going to do that. It just hit me hard, somehow. Anyway, thanks.

BUT...the Kid has a video of this which at some point will show up on his FB page.
I teared up, watching Curious Girl start clapping and singing along on "this Land is your land" (and I loved that Bruce called it the greatest song every written). And the hat! I was thinking it looked just like some socks a friend has--and turns out I was right, as the socks are by the same company.
I just switched the link to the German video. Fuck HBO, anyway.

Wow, Genevieve! You forgot to mention the most impressive point, which is that Hilzoy is related to Gordon Bok! He was considered a musical demigod in his own right, in my house, growing up.
