Good luck with getting them to respond but at least you've let them know your concerns.
Is it the product that's changing or the regulations about what can or can't be labelled organic? Either way, uncool!

Disgusting. Thanks for letting me know. FWIW, the soymilk at Whole Paycheck is only $2.99/half-gallon, and it's organic. It doesn't exactly taste quite as good as Silk, but maybe it'll do?

Heh. That's crap. Dorothy Sayers comments a good deal about this sort of thing in Murder Must Advertise, and ever since, I've been very cautious about the way that products are described, whether they're made "from" something or only "with" it -- a slightly different situation, but it comes down to much the same thing.

Thanks for the tip off! My daughter and her partner require this delicacy so I shall draw their attention to it.
Cheers

Gah. I didn't notice this, either. Time to write a letter. . .
Thanks for drawing my attention to the matter.

Great letter! And I'll look for another brand. Sneakiness loses them all credibility.
Love Jane Dark's Murder Must Advertise cite. The "made from" and "made with" reference was to a drink called perry, apparently made from pears, though I've never seen or heard of it outside the book- but that discussion stuck with me too. Found the quote on this blog, which was posting about "pumpkin style" pie that contained no pumpkin:
http://www.transhomiletic.com/20...pkin-
style.html
"Which incidentally brings me to the delicate and important distinction between the words 'with' and 'from.' Suppose you are advertising lemonade, or, not to be invidious, we will say perry. If you say 'Our perry is made from fresh-plucked pears only,' then it's got to be made from pears only, or the statement is actionable; if you just say it is made 'from pears,' without the 'only,' the betting is that it is probably made chiefly from pears; but if you say, 'made with pears,' you generally mean that you use a peck a pears to a ton of turnips, and the law cannot touch you -- such are the niceties of our English tongue." (Sayers, Dorothy L., Murder Must Advertise (Harper and Row, New York, 1933) p. 6

Lovely. I hope that enough irate former customers get them to change back...but I doubt it.

I love Dorothy Sayers.
And, Phantom, do you like nuts? Because it's pretty easy to make your own nut milk. Especially cashew milk--just throw a handful of raw cashews in the blender with some water, blend, and strain. But you probably already know that.
We use a lot of rice milk here, too.

... I only clicked on your Library Thing today. I am not at all astounded that you have 1527 books in your collection. However, I am stupefied that you have managed to catalog that may of them! Wow, I say.
