Welcome to the Commenting Pixie Party!

Gravatar Maybe Mrs. Christian Fort Collins is being optimistic about her candidate's chances. Just a thought. Put away the passports...for now.

I love the idea behind the shoe pic. Who knows how he knows what a meme is? Go with it...haha...

Gravatar Whoever's foot is in the middle (you Phantom?)--I have the same shoes I was really hoping to meet Yankee this weekend, but I couldn't get away

The Kid loves to take pictures of feet, so maybe I'll play this meme, too.

And even as a priest, I am freaked out by some of the "Christian" right wing candidates. Can I emigrate with you? I hear Iceland is a good place to live these days.

Gravatar I'm almost afraid to be optimistic, after the disappointment of 2004.
But I love the toe meme!

Gravatar That's a nice looking trio o' shod feet.

So, yes, in fact I do feel better for this instant, but, OK, now it's worn off already I'm afraid. (Can LG recommend another meme?)

I really hope that the scary white dude loses in your district (Massachussetts!? That's just wrong.), and that scary white dudes everywhere fade into the private sector already.

Gravatar OK, it looks like Haloscan just ate my post.

I'm playing along.

Gravatar I'm meeting up with some bloggers this weekend, maybe we'll do a toe meme as well.

Gravatar LG CREATED A MEME?!?!!? awesome.

Gravatar I think part of the problem is that not even Fort Collins, Colorado deserves to have scary Christian folk running the show.
*sigh*

Gravatar Yep, parodie, you got it. I know some very nice (reaaaalllly nice, not "nice") people in Fort Collins. Good people. Who wouldn't agree with this woman.

Yay, LG's first meme!

Gravatar I'm all for the "toe meme" as long as I don't have to see anyone's actual toes.

And I live in the nation's capital of "It Was Better Where We Came From." Then, please, please go back to New York/Texas/France/San Francisco/Utah. Please.

And I don't know whether to watch the TV tomorrow or not. Gulp.

Gravatar Ok. Breathe. Deeply. It will be OK. Even if he wins, there are going to be a lot of other democrats voted in to cancel out your guy. Be positive. We could be on the cusp of something great here.

I like to stay optimistic on the issue of politics.

Gravatar (Fingers in her ears, humming) Election? What election? It's all just too scary.

I do, however, love the foot meme.

Gravatar Love the toe meme and if her guy wins and my candidate wins, then you can move down here!

Gravatar What Election Day? Huh? Can't hear you with all this "Lalalalala" singing with my fingers in my ears. And blinders over my eyes.

I will not wake up on Wednesday unless there's good news to be had. In the meantime, a toe meme sounds delightful. I'll open my eyes for that.

Gravatar Kathy R,

Whoops, there are naked toes on my blog. Sorry.

Gravatar Conservative christians scare me. Conservative christians in a position of power and influence often keep me up at night. Tomorrow we all get to send a little message to those faux family value, war-mongering, greedy, lying fools. I am optimistic. I believe in the power of the big pendulum and it is swinging back our way, baby.

Gravatar I said to S just an hour or so ago, "I just can't stand it. I'm not sure I'm going to make it till tomorrow night." And they say the voting is going to be so screwed up that we probably won't even know results tomorrow night. I'm not so worried about us, but I'm obsessed with Red State. And Virginia. And Missouri. OAnd..oh god, I can't go on.

Gravatar How sad is it that I know that one pair of those is Keen and one pair is Merrell and I'm bothered by not knowing the brand of the third pair of shoes.

Gravatar Can I just say there are not so many toes in the toe meme? At least not visible toes--although this is all to the good, thinks Kathy above. I'm playing along (well, Curious Girl is) with photos from last summer (so they are toes-visible).

I am preparing to be depressed about the anti-gay initiatives that are likely going to pass in various states, and also preparing to be depressed even over democratic victories in my home state, where the Ds are tilting so far right it's scary.

But there's a little happy part, too. Complicated political emotions this season, indeed.

Gravatar I feel nervous too about the upcoming elections. I think I'm stillr ecovering from the shock of the last ones.

I love the toe meme!

Gravatar my ballot has approximately 3,000 choices, PLUS, we are going touch-screen this election. joy, joy.

if i can deal with that, plus the cat with messy intestinal disorders, plus the child with bad car karma and a bad attitude about it, plus deadlines, plus the child who melted down today and is also applying to colleges, and my husband's hyper dogs -- well, i'm voting, and you had better, too. i think i'll check the news about thursday.

but go vote. wear toes, they are all the rage.

Gravatar I hope you're right, Fringes!

Yup, that's me with the Keens in the middle. I'm very proud of those shoes. I just bought them a couple of weeks ago from Zappos, and the first pair I ordered was too small. I was going to just suck it up and have aching feet (or never wear them and feel bad about myself for wasting good money), and then I decided to pretend I was a real grown up. So I returned them and got the next size up. First time I've ever returned anything. Seriously, I feel so frickin' emotionally healthy when I wear those shoes now.

But you'll still have to ask Yankee what kind her shoes are, PPB. I can't help you there.

Ianqui and Jeff, it's good to hear your optimism. I sure as hell hope it turns out to be warranted. Because right now I'm with Becca. I don't think I can last until tomorrow night. And if she's right, and some of the pivotal races have voting problems that take days to sort out, I will spontaneously combust.

Thanks to everyone who's playing alone with the meme. LG is very proud of himself to have created a meme!

Gravatar I feel your pain. I must say, I really considered moving to Canada when His Royal Bushness the Third was re-elected (or stole a second election, whichever). If it weren't for the fact that I live in paradise I'd a been outta here.

Love the toe meme.

Gravatar Fundamentalists of all persuasions scare me.

Gravatar This isn't even my country and I'm steeling myself to be disappointed yet again tomorrow...

I still have a pair of too small shoes from zappos. I returned them once, and felt all proud of myself for doing that, but the next size up still doesn't fit and I've been feeling guilty about returning them a second time.

Gravatar Actually, pretty much everyone scares me, except for my family. And even some of them scare me.

Gravatar Terror. Sheer, pure terror.

Two local Dem candidates were pressing the flesh at the Metro station this evening. I stopped to tell them that I was voting for them and ended up chatting for several minutes about how angry I am about how the Republicans have stolen my country and trashed it. The two local Dems will certainly win, because they are running in a super blue area for state level office (the primary was the real election). I'm still nervous about the Senate and gubernatorial races here, though. I'm having a lot of trouble concentrating on the paper I'm supposed to be writing.

Gravatar Three words, Pixies: Stem Cell Amendment. OMG, the political noise!

I refuse to answer my land-line telephone until after the polls close tomorrow night. Fireplacin' recorded messages.

Gravatar Grandma Blue, what you said about fundamentalists....me too!

I refused to answer my phone today b/c so many candidates were "calling" to thank me for my vote....yikes!

I just did the meme.

Gravatar Hugs, Phantom, big hugs.

I am frightened, too.

Gravatar Hey everyone, it's pretty cozy over here in Edinburgh! I'll show you areound if you move to the UK.

Gravatar I was right: Curious Girl loves this meme. Her comment: Oooohhhhh, AWESOME!!

Gravatar I just keep humming "Young enough to believe in revolution" (and posted it on my blog). maybe that's why our NPR music affiliate keeps playing it.

anyway, I didn't vote this morning because the polls were backed up with miles of parked cars. I've never seen it like that in my neighborhood.

don't worry, mr. t. and I are meeting for lunch and voting and whatever.

Gravatar They're Birkenstocks. The most comfortable (if hideous) shoes I have ever owned. And nice splash of coffee-with-cream on there, no?

Gravatar Nice shoes, phantom. I may have to go over to Zappos and check them out.

It's election day. I couldn't wait for it to get here, and now, I'm so nervous I don't want to know the outcomes. I am so not ready for any disappointments. I want at least one house of congress. Two would be a dream, but one will be enough to assuage my battered heart.

Blondie should go back to Fort Collins and worship at the homophobic, anti-choice, hypocritical church of evangelical bullshit. Her poster boy Ted Haggard puts the best face on her Colorado.

Gravatar LG made a meme!! And a very cool one at that.

You could always emigrate to Canada, though we have a Conservative Bush wanna-be as Prime Minister at the moment.

As for Mrs. Christian Colorado - I am so fed up with the Christian right, I could puke. (sorry, it's not even Wednesday yet!)

I'm crossing my toes in honour of LG's meme for a good outcome in your elections today.
