Manfred is just BEGGING for a doggie jumper - since it is so cold in Canberra - as you noted at the beginning of your post!
Wow, you have a lot on your plate at the moment knitting wise! Are you planning on finishing it all before the TdF or just some of it?
I tend to forget that it's cold and miserable down there. As I'm sweating with some wool on my lap I'll think of you all cozy with some nice warm shawl wrapped around your shoulders.

I'm curious about Ishbel #1. I just started one. It's going great - but then what could go wrong on the stockinette portion? However, I'm pretty nervous about the lace.

We've been having really scary thunderstorms. Dark, ominous skies; forceful rain; loud cracks of thunder. The weather map shows angry red and orange. Chris got caught in it yesterday, drove through a puddle, and flooded his engine--that puddle cost $200.
Puppies and yarn don't mix, same as cats. If he eats it, it can get tangled up inside him and that's never a good thing.
You could always knit him a felted toy instead; what's one more project on the needles?
Your Ishbel is looking fabulous! How does it feel?

I think weather-sense is pretty relative, don't you? It doesn't get nearly as cold in the winters where I live when compared with the MidWest of the US, but it's still too cold for me!

What can I say except its all so pretty! And oh so productive. Winter has its benefits.
I love all the WIPs. And funny you mention Canada - ever since being in Quebec in the middle of winter, I've been hopping about saying to people "you think *this* is cold? This isn't cold. This is nothing... now, when I was in Quebec, my jeans froze while I was wearing them!" Yes, basically I should stop saying it!
Gordon Bennett, you have a lot on your plate! It's horribly cold and drizzly here at the base of the Dandenongs, and I keep repeating over and over "Scotland was colder...Scotland was colder..."!
I love the Lacy Mock Cable Socks, so I think I'll have to add them to my list of many socks to make for my mum.

it has been so cold hasn't it.I can see snow on mountains right now. I am also frantically finishing off the most frustrating thing I have ever knitted to make room for the TDF. Have a great weekend
I would venture that even though it might be more cold/bleak in Canada, we have all the negatives of the cold, with none of the positives (i.e. snow!). I log to live somewhere where it regularly snows during winter. 
Manfred is so cute! He reminds me of my puppies and how they love to play with my wool... Looks like you're making heaps of progress on your WIPs as well - congratulations! Even though I'm not officially taking part in the Tour De France, I'm tryign to finish off one of my WIPs (Cardigan for Merry) so that I only have one other WIP and I can cast on my February Lady Sweater on the weekend (or at the latest early next week). _SO_ looking forward to knitting with Luxury for the first time. Hope you have a great time in Sydney.

Hi Bells. My daughter is sitting with me as we read our favourite blogs and she's insisting that I comment on your cute dog (or rather your brother's cute dog). So - he is very cute. There were lots of oohs and ahhs over here at our house. We love a good puppy photo. BTW don't comment quite so much these days cause you seem to have heaps but still a regular follower. Your socks are looking fabulous Bells! Or rather, your sock. In an odd kind of coincidence, my Velvet Plum has become the stocking stitch part of an Ishbel, but for some reason I just cant get the lace to work out properly. Its doing my head in! What happened to your first Ishbel? Do tell.
Intriguing. I am on tenterhooks to find out what happened to Ishbel 1st... Could it be puppy-related?
Don't swallow yarnz, baby Manfred! Painful vet visits can follow from that.
