Gravatar I love that we are both using the same yarn for our TdF projects!! What was your gauge? I guess I'd better do a swatch too....and quick smart about it!

Manfred is just BEGGING for a doggie jumper - since it is so cold in Canberra - as you noted at the beginning of your post!

Gravatar Wow, you have a lot on your plate at the moment knitting wise! Are you planning on finishing it all before the TdF or just some of it?

Gravatar I tend to forget that it's cold and miserable down there. As I'm sweating with some wool on my lap I'll think of you all cozy with some nice warm shawl wrapped around your shoulders.

Have a good time at the wine and food show. I love them!

Gravatar Oooh, good idea, I've been planning on knitting my swatch before Saturday rolls around all week, hasn't happened yet.
I'm going to try the Garter Yoke Cardigan for the Tour de France too, what's one more project on the needles hey????

Gravatar what could be better than knitting in this weather? and what lovely pinks and greys! that ishbel is looking tantalising, as does the rowan kid classic. i really want to make ishbel one day ...

Gravatar I love hearing about the weather Down Under. Your July sounds like Wisconsin's November -- kind of Dickenesque, don't you think?

Love the lacy mock cable socks. That color is incredible.

I'm curious about Ishbel #1. I just started one. It's going great - but then what could go wrong on the stockinette portion? However, I'm pretty nervous about the lace.

Gravatar I love your food show reports! Looking forward to it. Enjoy the day with Adele. Such a nice tradition.

We've been having really scary thunderstorms. Dark, ominous skies; forceful rain; loud cracks of thunder. The weather map shows angry red and orange. Chris got caught in it yesterday, drove through a puddle, and flooded his engine--that puddle cost $200.

Gravatar Puppies and yarn don't mix, same as cats. If he eats it, it can get tangled up inside him and that's never a good thing.

You could always knit him a felted toy instead; what's one more project on the needles?

Gravatar Your Ishbel is looking fabulous! How does it feel?

And the rest of your WIPS! Lovely.

Good choice with the RKC - the garter yoke will look stunning in that. It's all so exciting.

Enjoy Sydney, I look forward to hearing about all that glorious food!

Gravatar Manfred is adorable! What a sweet face. And what wonderful knitting. Love the socks, and the kimono especially.

Gravatar Hullo Manfred! He looks like a handful.

I think weather-sense is pretty relative, don't you? It doesn't get nearly as cold in the winters where I live when compared with the MidWest of the US, but it's still too cold for me!

Gravatar I had to come over from Flickr to see about Manfred. So cute!!!! I thought he was yours and I thought was a Yorkie. Totally adorable!

Gravatar Oh lucky duck - have a wonderful food and wine-y time! The projects all look wondrous and the rowan so nice - the garter yoke cardi is another one on my queue too....

Gravatar cute puppy! lovely knitting, i am swatched too ready to go. its is freezing and windy here today but not as cold as you, the thought of it makes me shiver! hope you have a great time tomorrow xx

Gravatar What can I say except its all so pretty! And oh so productive. Winter has its benefits.

Gravatar I love all the WIPs. And funny you mention Canada - ever since being in Quebec in the middle of winter, I've been hopping about saying to people "you think *this* is cold? This isn't cold. This is nothing... now, when I was in Quebec, my jeans froze while I was wearing them!" Yes, basically I should stop saying it!

Gravatar Gordon Bennett, you have a lot on your plate! It's horribly cold and drizzly here at the base of the Dandenongs, and I keep repeating over and over "Scotland was colder...Scotland was colder..."!

I love the Lacy Mock Cable Socks, so I think I'll have to add them to my list of many socks to make for my mum.

Gravatar Love your new "nephew." Very cute! And boy, there's been a lot of knitting since I've been gone!

Gravatar it has been so cold hasn't it.I can see snow on mountains right now. I am also frantically finishing off the most frustrating thing I have ever knitted to make room for the TDF. Have a great weekend

Gravatar I would venture that even though it might be more cold/bleak in Canada, we have all the negatives of the cold, with none of the positives (i.e. snow!). I log to live somewhere where it regularly snows during winter. Manfred is so cute! He reminds me of my puppies and how they love to play with my wool... Looks like you're making heaps of progress on your WIPs as well - congratulations! Even though I'm not officially taking part in the Tour De France, I'm tryign to finish off one of my WIPs (Cardigan for Merry) so that I only have one other WIP and I can cast on my February Lady Sweater on the weekend (or at the latest early next week). _SO_ looking forward to knitting with Luxury for the first time. Hope you have a great time in Sydney.

Gravatar Manfred is totally adorable even if he is a danger to knitting!

Good work on the WIPS - looking forward to Saturday very much

And cold - ooh - sounds kind of tempting - we seem to be in the midst of a very clammy heatwave - punishment for all the moans about what happened to our summer I think!

Gravatar you're being so good, finishing all those things before TdF!

Miss Alice "fattening up nicely" did give me a giggle, too

The Rowan Kid Classic is a gorgeous colour and is going to make a lovely Garter Yoke, for sure.

It's all good Have a great weekend away with your sis

Gravatar Hi Bells. My daughter is sitting with me as we read our favourite blogs and she's insisting that I comment on your cute dog (or rather your brother's cute dog). So - he is very cute. There were lots of oohs and ahhs over here at our house. We love a good puppy photo. BTW don't comment quite so much these days cause you seem to have heaps but still a regular follower. Enjoy Sydney.

Gravatar That's a nice range of projects. Love the socks. I have just cast off Ishbel & love it. I have also got my yarn for the Garter Yoke Cardi. Looks like we have much in common. Keep warm.

Gravatar Cute puppy! Good luck on all your WIPs - I hope you get as much of them done as you want before the TDF knitting starts.

Gravatar Your many projects keep me inspired. And thanks for the doggie cheesecake photo. 8^) He's pretty man-ly. Great name. Your baby kimono is reminding me that I have a half-done one that is begging to be completed--must go find it now! Cheers, and warm sweaters to you on your chilly winter days--

Gravatar Oooh, I'm looking forward to the food show writeup, those are always so much fun to read! I'm impressed by all your wips, right now, mine are pretty much all big square things. Dare we ask what happened to Ishbel #1? Best of luck on your TDF knitting! I have faith you can kick that cardigan's butt!

Gravatar Oh seriously jealous. I want to know *EVERYTHING* re gordon ramsay. everything.

sigh

Gravatar busy busy Bells - and cute cute Manfred!

Gravatar Your socks are looking fabulous Bells! Or rather, your sock. In an odd kind of coincidence, my Velvet Plum has become the stocking stitch part of an Ishbel, but for some reason I just cant get the lace to work out properly. Its doing my head in! What happened to your first Ishbel? Do tell.

Gravatar Intriguing. I am on tenterhooks to find out what happened to Ishbel 1st... Could it be puppy-related?

Gravatar Don't swallow yarnz, baby Manfred! Painful vet visits can follow from that.

What a lot of beautiful knitting. I loooove the color of the socks particularly.
