I'm betting that was restorative all around. Beautiful beach. I was just thinking how usually we've bought the beach pass and gone at least once by now, but our weather is simply not cooperating.

I love a beach in the winter. It's so stark and beautiful. Sounds like a perfect weekend. Laying low and resting is underrated.

Knitting at the beach in the winter is soooo healing! YOu just tuck in and let the repairs go on. It's also good for reading, napping and breathing quietly in and out.

Sounds like the perfect weekend for you two! Winter beaches are something special, so spare and dramatic. It's wonderful you have knitting friends so close, and that you had the opportunity to get together and knit. It's so much more fun to knit (or crochet) with someone else around to chat and compare notes with.

isn't the beach magnificent in Winter? I love the drama of watching a storm brew over the ocean too (particularly if I'm tucked up cosy inside watching it!)

I think my favorite beach time is in winter when it is cold and stormy. Summer is great too, but there is something about a winter storm over a beach.

The winter beach is much the same in Oregon. Lots of storms, white waves, it's nice to sit, watch, and zone out to the sound and sight of them.

Your winter pictures of the beach look strangely like mine from Maine (Northeastern US coast), where I just got back from cold, rainy weather. We left there this morning, and the temperature was 60; four hours later we land in Madison in 95 degrees! Oops -- don't know metric equivalents! Anyway, the point is that it is supposed to be summer here!

You do such a marvelous job of evoking feelings with your writing and your pictures. Just a lovely juxtaposition of the wildness of the wintry beach at nightfall and the cozy warmth of the cottage. I almost feel as if I had a nice visit myself!
