Gravatar I'm betting that was restorative all around. Beautiful beach. I was just thinking how usually we've bought the beach pass and gone at least once by now, but our weather is simply not cooperating.

Gravatar I love the knitterly photo of you both in your woolly garments on the beach!

Gravatar Mmmmm, nice weekend. isn't knitting the best thing. Well, knitting with friends, that's the best thing of all!

Gravatar I love a beach in the winter. It's so stark and beautiful. Sounds like a perfect weekend. Laying low and resting is underrated.

Gravatar I love a winter weekend with friends and knitting - and a stormy beach just makes it all the more wonderful doesn't it?

Gravatar Knitting at the beach in the winter is soooo healing! YOu just tuck in and let the repairs go on. It's also good for reading, napping and breathing quietly in and out.

Gravatar That looks such a great weekend and all that lovely sea air to blow the cobwebs away!

Gravatar Sounds like the perfect weekend for you two! Winter beaches are something special, so spare and dramatic. It's wonderful you have knitting friends so close, and that you had the opportunity to get together and knit. It's so much more fun to knit (or crochet) with someone else around to chat and compare notes with.

Gravatar was so lovely to have you both, it was a really great weekend! im not sure why im biting my lip like that, but otherwise thats a great photo! xx

Gravatar isn't the beach magnificent in Winter? I love the drama of watching a storm brew over the ocean too (particularly if I'm tucked up cosy inside watching it!)

glad to hear you've had such a lovely break, and can't wait to see that cardigan!

Gravatar What a lovely escape - asn is that Serenity I see on the table?

Gravatar Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I love the beach too & will love to live near one some day.

Gravatar *bounces* Serenity is such a good movie. Need more Joss.

Gravatar Lovely photos! And it sounds like a great trip!

(Also loving Serenity on the top of the DVD pile...)

Gravatar Hahaha! The first thing I noticed was the DVD pile too! Love it!

I think my favorite beach time is in winter when it is cold and stormy. Summer is great too, but there is something about a winter storm over a beach.

Gravatar Looks like a lovely weekend! I love winter beaches too, especially with my dog bounding around near the waves.

Gravatar Lovely pic of the stormy beach Bells, I love winter beaches too.

Gravatar The winter beach is much the same in Oregon. Lots of storms, white waves, it's nice to sit, watch, and zone out to the sound and sight of them.

Gravatar I love the beach in a storm. But I'm loving this break in the stormy weather!

Gravatar What a great get-away! I love a wintry beach, too. Winter + knitting is a delight.

Gravatar Sounds wonderful, great to see the pics, and so pleased you and Sean were able to get up to see Kylie.

Gravatar Your winter pictures of the beach look strangely like mine from Maine (Northeastern US coast), where I just got back from cold, rainy weather. We left there this morning, and the temperature was 60; four hours later we land in Madison in 95 degrees! Oops -- don't know metric equivalents! Anyway, the point is that it is supposed to be summer here!

Gravatar Oh look at you two, you look so cute and happy

Gravatar Oh, you were in Wollongong! I'm so glad that you got your wintry beach. And is that a spinning-wheel I spy?

Gravatar How lovely to see you and Dr K and I just took her house tour on her blog!! The weather is certainly wild there!!

Gravatar You do such a marvelous job of evoking feelings with your writing and your pictures. Just a lovely juxtaposition of the wildness of the wintry beach at nightfall and the cozy warmth of the cottage. I almost feel as if I had a nice visit myself!

Gravatar Sounds perfect. I hope you have another equally wonderful weekend ahead of you. (Oh, and I love your sweater.)

Gravatar The pictures with the beach in the background are gorgeous! Sounds like a perfect weekend!
