Very very true. I too love to take pleasure in the little things. Oh, and shoes!
I'd forgotten about the ladybird pegs. So cute!!! I love snapdragons, I wonder if it's too late to plant some for myself...

Hang in there, sweetie.
For a time in college, during a very difficult time, I would write down, every single day, something that made me happy. A small thing, as you said. It became a daily practice to look for the beauty and grace in the small things, and then it became a habit, one I thankfully still have. It's an invaluable habit.
Thinking of you. xo

A dish full of adorable lady bugs is a pretty good way to start the day. Then I began scrolling down to all the other "little things." I'd say you have the perfect combination of gratitude and optimism.

That is exactly one of the things I love about blogging. The idea of writting and photographing something every day, or most days!, means that you are forced to open your eyes and look at the small everyday pleasures and joys that are around you.
Chin up sweetheart! (((hugs)))

Bells - your broccoli looks nice. Maybe I'll draw strength from your little things and face my own sadness and go back to my garden.

My kids laugh at me for believing that small miracles and happinesses are everywhere if you know where to look but I am a firm believer. And a bowl full of ladybugs is a great happiness.

Finding hope and beauty in small things is a large survival tactic. Hold on, dear. The whole world is filled with small beauties, and you have a flock of people pulling for you.

I believe happiness is something that takes practice. If you can find it in the sand-grain things, you'll be able to celebrate it in the beach-sized ones.
I try to catch myself when I say, "I'll be happy when" and be happy now.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

The little things you've snapped are beautiful, and happiness-inducing.
It is true than when you search for the big things to make you happy, you do tend to overlook at the small things that you take for granted. But sometimes, its the small things that make the happiness last longer. Your garden is looking lovely, and your badge makes me smile, so thank you for passing some of that happiness on to me.

Oh, darls is this a case of the mean reds? I hope that the hormone treatments aren't savaging your happiness drawer. I'm a curmudgeon and having to think of things that make me happy generally makes me resentful, so I hope you're better adjusted than I am. One thing I find that does help is to go for a walk. Something about daylight, being rugged up against a brisk breeze then followed up with a hot chocky/red wine and a cuddle with one's beloved helps to banish the mean reds fairly effectively.

I hope the little things made you smile... they certainly worked for me and other devoted Bell readers.
Yes sometimes when I feel over all the tasks to do and can't see the light at the tunnel I just think don't use brain space on it put it into something positive and just set small goals. Like the house is still in chaos at present but I thought if the bathroom is clean I will feel better. So that was the only place I cleaned yesterday.

Thank you so much for reminding me about the little things, Bells. It's really important! I just got back from my trip overseas and I'm noticing lots of everyday things afresh which I took for granted before I left - mostly to do with nature. We're so lucky to have so many trees and birds in Canberra. Anyway, hang in there. We're all thinking positive thoughts for you.
