ooh la laa! It is so lovely! I don't know how you managed to make a suitably manly blanket with purple AND lace (well, I know, it's not LACY lace...) but you pulled it off. Fantastic.

Brilliant! And a good save there with the casting off dramas - lucky you had some purple on hand :D
Finished in the nick of time, too - looks like we're getting snow on the ranges tonight!!

Your comment re pink and purple - I invite you to go to the babywear department of K-Mart or Target. With a brown paper bag. Nauseating.
Love this blanky : )

Personally I think that shawl knitting should be an Olympic event. Sigh I.... just don't have the endurance for it.
The fact that you finished it, makes you a saint in my books.
I just read your description in your profile. I am so happy for you

That was so fast! It's gorgeous and looks big enough to be really cozy. Makes me want to try one, although it would have to be soon as it will be too warm soon to want to have all that wool on my lap in my un-air conditioned house!

Snuggly. I'm suddenly wondering what plans I had for some chocolate brown and vaguely pinkish yarn I have sitting in my stash. Even though it's not a tube.

Now that's a gorgeous blankie!
And the jumper was just, mmm, hanging onto the purple yarn until you really really needed it. Yeah, that's it.

Wooo, gotta love those last minute saves! The purple yarn is now in much better service than the pink and purple stripes.
What a great job you did...the shawl is absolutely beautiful. And I know what you mean about needing more pins. Isn't it amazing how many it takes to block one of these?!
So...dare I ask? WHAT'S NEXT?!!

Thank goodness for the abandoned jumper! It must have been so satisfying for you to have your blanket lying out for you to admire all day!

That is lovely, Bells. And so quick! As for the purple and pink jumper... it was just a lapse in judgement. you recovered quickly from it, right? I mean, it was abandoned.

Gorgeous. I won't show it to my husband. His queue is longer than mine at the moment. A blanket is the last thing he needs!

Absolutely mind-blowingly brilliant. I adore it. I still didn't think it would sit flat, how silly I was to doubt you dear friend.
Now all we need is a pic of Sean all cuddled up on the couch in it. He can hide his face if he wants. We want to see the blanky in action!
