Absolutely gorgeous Bells. Your brother looks good in it, and oh so satisfying to give a gift of yourself with one of your handknits.

Oh, Bells, I'd say you outdid yourself. The vest is just beautiful (or is that handsome?). I think it is so great that this was a request. The only thing my brother ever requested was a Ralph Lauren hat he had seen in a store and wanted to know if I could copy it. Your story also reminded me of how my grandparents came to my school and picked me up in a pickup truck when my brother was born. My little nana standing on the corner yelling, "It's a boy!"

Nice job!! I like the cable. And isn't it a much better way to knit a vest, in the round up to the armholes, than seaming the sides? Silly designers.

Kick-ass vest! Wonderful job on the cables. It makes that tatooed yobbo look civilized and cuddly. He'll have girls thronging him.

Isn't that peculiar when that happens?
I just found out one of my brothers now has 3 sewing machines, so I feel a little better about having 90-eleven knitting needles.

He's quite the model, isnt he? Very nice work, and well done on the conversion. It looks fabulous! Note to self: don't show Beloved, he may get ideas about wanting a vest as well as a jumper, as well as a beanie.....

It makes him look like a 'farmer' in a Country Style magazine! The good-looking genes run strong in your family : )
If your fellas are like mine, it's not surprising that you and your mum picked the same colours. P. seems to only dress in shades of gray or green that's so close to gray it's debatable whether or not it is indeed gray.

Oh, forgot. Could you share what are the things one need to do when converting a pattern from flat to in-the-round? I think there's something about reducing the number of stitches but I can't remember.

Just a lovely vest, Bells. I am almost inspired to try a vest in the round and split it up at the arm holes--sounds so sensible~And funny about how your mom did the same thing with the same yarn. Great minds think alike!
