It's sad to see what's happened, but I think that we've reached a point where we need two categories for stats: The pre-substance use and the post-substance use.
When I look at photos of these guys from the late-1980s and compare them with photos from the late-1990s, you can see that they're pumping something other than iron.
When it comes to Canseco, however, I'm wondering if this is going to help or hurt the steroid stories. He names a lot of people, some of whom don't look as if they've done anything (Raphael Palmeiro, for one), and it's no secret that he has money troubles. Sales of a few million books would come in handy for him.
