The pitching really is coming around, unlike early last year, when the composite team ERA in April was somewhere around the GNP of Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately, I missed most of the game, but from what I saw from Carp, I was quite pleased, as well. La Russa can't be too happy with the fraternization at first base. He said in the book that he doesn't like seeing his guys playing nice with the enemy. I hope you're right about the offense coming around...
