ditto on Harry Potter. Add 24, I just never got it. Still don't.
Never saw American Pie or any of the sequels.
And full-time jobs. I mean, what is the deal with that? Surely that fad won't last.

oh, and I don't really understand RSS feeds either, but all I know is I put in people's blogs on Google Reader and then I can tell when they update.

Survivor and the Amazing Race. You could not pay me to watch those shows. I remember hearing about Survivor and thinking if they had only people on death row participating and they killed people off it when they were "eliminated" it would be a better show. Amazing Race holds way too much screeching and fighting about stupid shit for my taste. Pass.

Totally with you on Buffy. I thought for sure that it would never get past three shows. Although I never did get on the lovetrain with everyone else...I can honestly say that I've never seen a single episode of it!
There are lots of things I just don't get. Algebra. OK, most math.
Football.
People who are label whores. By that I mean people who are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for clothing with the designers' names plastered all over them. Basically, these people are advertising on designers' behalfs and PAYING for that.
I don't understand why Europeans eat their salads AFTER the entree.
Deep thoughts, eh?

Well duh. I just realized that I should have been writing with the theme of 'pop culture' in mind.
Ooops.
And for the record, all great hiphop music was made prior to 1986.

It's funny. I come up with a post that I think will slay and *crickets*. Then I write something half-assed that I think sucks and there are comments out the wazoo (flattering, but uncomfortable). The internet is weird. Awesome, but weird.

tiff - I never got into 24 either. It seems like one of those shows where so much happens you have to be in from the very beginning. I suppose I could try to catch up on DVD, but that just seems like work.
Tamara - I've never seen those shows, either, but I can't say I really care. I'd just be watching for the sake of being in the loop. No thanks, although I have to admit I would probably watch your show.
Lori - I don't get football either, nor do I want to. After three years of living with my husband, though, I'm kind of starting to. He fell asleep during a game on Sunday and I just kind of ... left it on? 'Cause I wanted to see how it turned out? That scares me, a little bit.
Oh, and I don't get math, and I probably never will. I've just accepted it at this point.
Chris - But that's why we love it, yes?

Going back a few years, I didn't get all the hype surrounding "The Celestine Prophecy." I read it, and thought it sucked. Why it was a best-seller for something like two years straight is beyond me.
I agree about "24," too. I just don't care about watching Kiefer Sutherland scream at people and kill them, and I can't believe he has had so many bad days.
I don't get the iPod hype. I have a Creative brand MP3 player and it's awesome. I don't see why the word "iPod" has become synonymous with "mp3 player." And besides, mine was way cheaper and way less trendy.
And any reality show competition is just completely pointless to me. Especially when they make lame shows on HDTV and the Food Network to find the "next top whatever"... fuck, I watch those channels to see home design shows and cooking shows. I could give a crap less about some jackoff wanting their moment of cable TV fame by competing against other jackoffs. I just don't get it.

You know what I always wondered about 24? When do they pee? I know I should just suspend my disbelief but I can't help wondering about that.
And The Celestine Prophecy wasn't all that fabulous, you're right. Kind of reminds me of all the hype surrounding The DaVinci Code.

I don't have an iPod either. I am closer to having one now than I've ever been, but still...I don't see the point. I can't see me ever having the time to do something while wearing headphones that blocks out the rest of the world.
Photoshop. I WANT to get it. I just don't. And the idea of learning is overwhelming.
Clint Eastwood movies. Not the ones he's acted in but the ones he has directed. They suck. All of them. And I don't understand why people watch them. Or why Unforgiven won a gazillion Oscars.

I do not get people who get french manicures on their toes. What, you want to look like you have long toenails? Why?
I do not get Crocs. They are $30 and as lightweight and functional as $1.99 flip flops. (Oops, thongs.) But the person who invented those little buttons you put in Crocs is a genius.
I do not get those seasonal/holiday flags people put up on their suburban houses. What's wrong with Old Glory?
I do not get Whole Foods. It is so expensive. (That said, I used to not get farmer's markets, but I've come around.)
Speaking of shopping, I do not get Costco. Paying for the privilege of buying large quantities of name-brand items for not that much savings?
I do not get the cupcake phenomenon.
I do not get Girl Scout Cookies. I mean, I understand the charitable donation aspect of it; I just don't get people who think they're really good cookies.

I don't get why people toss cigarette butts from their cars, which are ostensibly equipped with ashtrays. Similarly, I don't get why people litter mere steps away from public trash cans. Ya couldn't walk the three feet? Burger wrapper was just the thing the scenery was lacking?
I don't get gossip... anything. Magazines, TV shows, whatever. I couldn't care less what [celebrity] is wearing right now, where, and next to whom.
I don't get people who forward ridiculous chain emails without running them through snopes.com first. Or doing a Google search, for cri-yi. Worse, I heard that there is a new strain of BS emails that claim to check out with Snopes. Uh, no. They're hoping you take their word for it.
And finally, I don't get these new spam comments I'm currently being barraged with (they're independent of this blog, no worries) that try to convince people that "piqweyGFPIUI" left a comment linking to bewiuwb[IUFGB.com. Really? That is sooo compelling! This is much better than selling v-you-know-what, and c-something-else.
OK done. Great list idea!

Candy - Oooh, I want Photoshop too! Lord knows I wouldn't know what to do with it, but still.
tasterspoon - The only way I could see Costco making sense is if you were one of those families with a truckload of kids, like the crazy-ass Duggars. Or maybe that couple Jon & Kate, who have twins AND sextuplets. Then, YES, a vat of mayo makes sense.
I don't get Crocs either. I mean, I get them, I just don't see why you'd pay so much money for them. I was tempted to buy a pair of faux Crocs just to knock around in.
Someone on the intarwebs (I wish I could remember who, because it cracked me up) once referred to Whole Foods as Whole Paycheck. My reaction: Word.
Ethan - I totally hate those chain emails, especially that one where Bill Gates was supposedly just giving out money to everyone. And people BELIEVED IT. Also, anything with little blinky gifs of kittens with angel wings or whatever. Gah.

I understand why most people hate POPULAR hip-hop, the stuff they play on the radio and everything, but there is some darn good stuff out there. If you want to give it a second try, I'd highly suggest lupe fiasco, common's new album, and aesop rock. Really good stuff.
