If Rodriguez has forfeited his shot at an Oscar by resigning from the DGA does that impact other potential awards - like cinematography or visual effects?

please, as if i don't already know i'm a loser. good insult.
rick - i'm not sure, to be honest. thats definetly something to look into, but i cant imagine it stops him from winning awards, if only because the distributor (dimension) would make sure that it could.

I don't know about awards for the other areas of filmmaking, but I recently read that his decision to resign from the DGA so that Rodriguez could share directing credit with Frank Miller (multiple directors is a DGA no-no) excludes him from quite a few things professionally, including any Oscar consideration.
Not that he would necessarily care. Rodriguez is such a DIY kind of guy which is something I've always admired about his work.
Excellent blog, BTW.

yeah, multiple directors is a no-no - thats why often another director will get a producing credit, much like on shows like the simpons - they have a few writers and a BUNCH of producers.
