Gravatar Nice spazz out. Way to keep it together.

Gravatar Screw you, thomas. Bandwidth costs money.

Gravatar Of course, Ben doesn't pay for his bandwidth.

Gravatar I choose to instead stream the mp3s on repeat.

Gravatar So I check out your page pretty regularly, I gotta say your taste is good. I know this is nothing about your post, but i couldn't find an email or anything so here it is. I'm shocked that you're not from Canada because you actually know quite a few Canadian artists that will never be known in the States. And if Boston is full of good musicophiles like yourself, I just may consider moving to Boston for school. Hell, I could even become a Bruins, Pats or Red Sox fan. Alot easier than the Blackhawks or Bears or-ugh- the Cubs. Cheers.

Gravatar I like spazzing out.
I've been doing it since I was, like 8. I'm 23 now and I still do it well.

Paul, I went to Queen's U in Kingston, so I'm an honorary Canadian, I'd like to think. Love the country, love the people.

Gravatar Shit, I'm 24. Sorry about that!

Aaron, you what you want. I like you.

Gravatar Sweet, dude.

PS- I don't actually stream the MP3s on repeat. I just thought that would be funny.

Gravatar Yeah that's me-so retarded I don't even know what direct link means.
But I love most of your music, just not Boston sports teams.
Thanks!

Gravatar direct-link means if you post the song on another website, don't like to the actual song - link to the post instead.

Gravatar As someone struggling in the MP3 blogosphere, I would ask that you show some compassion to those who link directly in attempts to up their blog cred. I have done so in the past, but was luckily called out on it by a bigger blog. I tried hosting files on iDisk and almost got my account deleted. Not all of us can pay for hosting, and it's a big bad world out in blogland.

What I'm trying to say is that you would benefit more by contacting these individuals rather than writing passive aggressive posts directed at them. Also, you might want to make the fact that you'd prefer that people don't direct-link VERY apparent. Often, people do not read the side-bar of blogs.

Gravatar blog cred.

inCREDible.

ben i think you should post some atb or sash or something. can i post late 90's dance music? that's what i listen to these days. and the new less than jake. but mostly fragma.

Gravatar I'm not passive aggressively trying to call someone out - I have no idea who linked it, but let's put it this way - downloads of the Jadakiss diss took up 8% of my total downloads, compared to about 1.3% of another song on this site.

You do the math.

Don't link to songs. Link to posts. It's a lot more polite.

Gravatar This happened a few months ago with another song - hence why you can't use my songs on xanga.com anymore.

Gravatar Oh, and Derek, go nuts!
Post all the crappy 90s dance music you want.

What was that song - "down down down down - down down down down" or whatever it was... that would be a great song to post.

Gravatar hey ben, i've been reading your blog for about a year and have blogrolled you. i'm kinda blog-naive--how can you tell you've been direct-linked to? i'd like to know if folks are leeching off me--allthough i don't pay for bandwidth...hit me back if you know the answer.

and if you do come by my blog, i'm giving away rademacher's new EP, if you're interested.

Gravatar use that language on your mom, svp

Gravatar i've had a few people direct link to my ezarchive account, and i called them out on their site, but i think some people are just naive about it. they don't understand blog etiquette. at all. i totally understand ben being pissed.

Gravatar Another alternative altogether is when they try to direct link again, track it down if possible. Once you discover the post that "hypes" the song....put something humorous in its place, forcing them into embarassment. You can even record a 10 second loop telling people "Do NOT fucking hotlink to me you grabasstic piece of donkey turd"....should be about a fraction of the size of the original MP3....replace your original link with the "updated" one, then replace the original with the altered clip of the identical name. No muss, no fuss, and the leechers get the fookin point rather quickly

Gravatar I like that idea.
I'm totally doing it.

Gravatar Have a look at my personal handywork when I discovered a person was leeching from my freebie photobucket account. I turned it against him pretty badly, and THAT was just for an "owned" picture :P
