The 'bridge to nowhere' isn't a myth. Neither is the fact that being able to see Russia qualifies her to negotiate with Putin. Neither is her contempt for community organizers. Neither is the fact that she wants the state to take control of women's bodies.

Thank you for taking the time to let some truth be heard... I have gotten so many e-mails of lies.
Why is it that women should have rights, but not the babies they want to kill? Don't they have rights?

Nicholas, please read my article in its entirety, you must only have read the headline and kneejerked your reply. She does not want the state to take control of women's bodies; read my article, she said that if Roe V Wade were overturned she would allow individual states to pass their own abortion laws or not as each state would decide for themselves. That is far away from what you allege.
As for her contempt for community organizers, being able to see Russia, or the bridge to nowhere - none of these are in my myth busters.
Stick to the 13 and tell me where I'm wrong.

I'll tell you where you are wrong. You say she is only anti-abortion for herself but not for others. there is a term for that. It is called "pro-choice". See, there are many people out there who personally disagree with abortion but recognize that other women should have the right to make the decisions about their bodies.
When you say you are "pro-life", you are actually saying you are anti-choice, which means you don't think women have the right to make their own decisions, which means you are not just anti-abortion for yourself at all.
Oh, yeah, it was a nice try on both yours and her behalf. But no go. Either you respect other women's right to bodily autonomy and privacy or you do not. If she was truly only anti-abortion for herself then she would be pro-choice.

p.s now that we have cleared that up, can we expect a nice non-partisan post by you on all the myths about Obama that are being spread by the right?
You know, just in the interests of fairness and honesty.

Hahaha. Yeah. But that one was too easy.
Also since i am back, I may as well tell Bernie he is wrong about Matt Damon too. Damon didn't say Palin believed dinosaurs roamed the earth 4000 years ago. He said he WANTED to know if she did.
In other words what he is saying is, he has heard the rumuors and her speeches about God's plans and it's what he doesn't know about Palin that scares him and he is aware that there is not enough time for the public to really get to know her and what drives her policy positions in time for them to make an informed choice. But then, that's one of the things that made her the perfect pick for McCain right? Take an almost blank slate and fill in the gaps yourself.
Just saying...

Jasmine, and If I said I wanted to know how many times Obama prayed to Allah, would it just be an innocent question or would that be implying he is in fact a closet Muslim?
Cynics like myself think that Damon was asking a rhetorical question. But there is a pig's hiney's tail's hair's chance I could be wrong, I'll admit that.

Palin is a member of a fundamentalist, creationist Church. Obama is not a Muslim. Obama rarely speaks of his faith in public. Palin asks school kids to pray that her natural gas pipeline is part of God's plan.
Hence, not comparable. Although, following your line argument a better question to ask would be "Does Obama pray to Allah?" By asking "how many times," you are already implicating him as been "guilty" of being a Muslim.
In any case, Obama has answered that question many times over. No, he is not a Muslim. No, he does not pray to Allah.
I think Damon was pretty clear in what he was saying:
"I don't know enough about her. In eight weeks, I'm not going to know enough about her...I need to know if she tried to ban books. I need to know if she thinks dinosaurs roamed the earth 400O years ago....SHE'S GOING TO HAVE THE NUCLEAR CODES!!!"
Haha. i love that last line. Gold.
Oh well. Now I've gone and gotten myself embroiled in a debate. Damn.

All Matt Damon needs to do is read my article on the myths of Sarah Palin and all his doubts can disappear. He doesn't need 8 weeks he needs only a few minutes.

Some of these are a matter of semantics. Although there is no book list, she did inquire about banning books and did take steps to have the librarian who balked fired. So only part of the myth isn't true. She is far right of the middle and rightly scares many people with her anti-science views, possibly being so close to the presidency.

I like how someone says that Obama is not a Muslim, and yet in an interview on public TV very, very recently, he spoke of his "Muslim" faith, and the interviewer corrected him "You mean your Christian faith." and he said "Yes, my Christian faith." Um, how do you make that mistake? I've never accidentally called myself a Muslim follower. Not once.
Great list on Palin. WE were wondering about the book banning thing and what the truth was. Not that it matters, I'd like to ban some books from the school libraries, though not the public library.

Great list.
There are several things that come to mind right off the bat. First and foremost is that while I don't believe she scares Alaskans hence the 90% approval rate, I do believe she scares the hell out of the democrats, hence the immediate brutal attack on her. Secondly it scares me that soooooooooooooooo many people are so ready to accept excerpts as ultimate truth. For example the Charlie Gibson interview - look at the WHOLE transcript, not just the excerpt they aired! Wake up people, she's as close to middle class and understanding daily issues as we are going to get in this election!

Is there a website devoted entirely to disputing political rumors and myths (on both sides)? If not, there should be.
Have you ever read "Anything for a Vote" by Joseph Cummins? Our presidential elections have never been free of slime and rumor-mongering....

I am vry glad to get the head sup to this article in Globe, thank you.
I find Palin absolutely fascinating. I think her persona and public image is so interesting. I think the media has gone nuts too...
Now listen. I don't agree with everything she may or may not believe, but I think this has been an out of line personal attack. I can imagine having a coffee or a beer with Palin. Even though she and I might not have some political issues together I think we have some human issues
She is a human and not the root of all evil. She's not perfect but she is fascinating...like all of us!
Thanks for visiting my blog!

No matter on anything with Palin...or McCain or Obama OR Biden....media coverage always throws us all for the lies...they dwell on the subject. Always.
The thing to do is do your OWN research of the person of YOUR choice and others also...get the background - and all the 'needless' information that tends to go heavily with media and opponents...period. Check yourself for truths and what the person is for/against.
Lies are just that lies and myths. I've read three books...McCain's autobiography and both Obama books that he wrote.
Both are great people. I haven't done enough research on Pailn to make any stand on her one way or another.
As far as I'm concerned, following the campaigns and attending two myself...I still like Obama better, but the country is in dire need of getting the country back to what it should be...let the BEST 'team' win. Ask yourself not what they can do for your country but what they can do for YOU. Because, YOU are the registered voter. If you elect the one that is suited to YOU, you will be happy.
Oh and I believe it was some historian --
he stated that the country deserves who they vote in, bad or good....so in other words...do your math...do your research before making any judgments on either side. KNOW your stuff, and vote. Period!!!

I am so totally amazed at how the left has attacked Sarah Palin. It is shocking to me. I may not agree with everything that she has said, but she is a woman who has stood up, given her time and her talents for the people of her state for a very long time.
She also walks the walk and doesn't just spew meaningless platitudes to the masses.
No, Mrs. Palin is like me and like you. She is a real person, not someone who has been working at trying to be President of the USA since he went to Harvard.

When Obama said "my Muslim faith" he meant it as the way the conservatives refer to "his Muslim faith." You know like you are doing here. His so-called Muslim faith. Did you even watch the whole interview, or did you just seize on the one statement and completely ignore the context? Both he and Stephenopolous elaborated on what Obama meant in the very next sentence.
Seriously, you guys have some nerve crying over the way Palin is being treated by the left when you still pass around stupid misinformation like that.

I dont agree with her options on some things. Abortion and the whole sex education in schools theory. People need to stay out of other people business. We need to be realistic about our kids and what they are doing. You can tell them not to do it, but they will. I, for one, believe in handing out condoms. Its better than the alternative. Also, If they revoke the abortion laws, many young women will die, like they did back in the day. They need to stick to gas prices and the war in Iraq. Those are problems that Im tired of being swept under the rug. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

Do you know what Gov. Palin meant by not having the "full support" of the librarian? I did a search, but couldn't find out if she ever elaborated on what she meant by "full support".
Jasmine beat me to it, because I was going to inquire about a T13 listing the myths about Obama that have been generated by members of the right.
