Gravatar Whoa. Is this a post or a novel excerpt?

Gravatar He committed suicide? That's so sad.

Gravatar I think the most important interpretation of art is emotion, and I'd like to think that I am capable of those, at least on a good day.
Excellent post.

Gravatar Don't follow mr.B. Don't think of it that way. It's great that you're doing this. I'm always interested in reading writing from people with a scientific perspective of things. The threat of suicide is relevant though for writers, for creators, for musicians, and people who are creatively frustrated because they crave a high level of stimulation.

By the way, not to belittle the serious issue of self-imposed death, at work I've been hearing lots of stories of the tenants having to clean up people who leave their bodies behind. It gives you an appreciation for those who do it cleanly, in a bath-tub or a parked car. Another story I heard involved laying in the impact hole in the ground, the "impression that he left" when an accountant jumped out of his window to his death. The person lying in it looked up at the person who showed it to them and asked: "what made this hole?" When he was told, he jumped out of it pretty quick.

Gravatar Mr B's tale is sad indeed. It's hard to be published, but that he thought of himself as failed was so heart breaking. I agree that artists/writers/poets have to suffer for their art to produce fresh work, but not in that manner.

Gravatar joel: i wish i had a novel in me. I just have a collection of short stories.

charlie: yeah, that is so sad. and I thought he was a bit arrogant. who knew the pain under the surface?

jay: thanks! i think the way we appreciate art triggers our emotions. on a good day, i try not to cry at the bad art in my office's reception.

sir barrett & fashmagslag: I think a bit of suffering always make for good creative output. but killing yourself. I don't know about that. but then I've always thought that self-awareness always leads to suffering.

Gravatar writing is so hard... i love it but i can't get off my ass to actually do it, and when i do do it, i feel like i suck at it... this entry of yours was very poetic in its diction and style... as well as moving and touching...

Gravatar thanks jaded! high compliments from someone who i think writes brilliantly.

Gravatar Indeed, writing is a tough exercice, far away from blogging which could be more related to short stories.

Takes courage and determination.

Gravatar Wow.

Gravatar What an interesting compilation of stories. Thanks for that.
