i'm taking a break between grading essays. love the new update: incisive and thoughtful as usual. totally know what you mean about half-evolved (albeit interesting) people. love the furniture, too. that's all, back to bad penmanship and missing articles...

"Most folks live lives of quiet desperation."
I believe the above quote's attributed to Mark Twain.

I suppose accidentally, in a fit of lust, splashing splooge on the new chair would be a "scoldable" offence?
And, ahem, is that a plastic, greenhouse container for the palm, right next to the chair and coffee table!!!? GASP. Martha Stewart did hard time for a lesser offence.
Looks pretty all round though.

oooh, I'm a big Noguchi fan. There's an Isamu Noguchi Museum in Queens in Long Island City, and it's worth going to, especially in the summer when the sculpture garden is open.
The furniture looks geat- clean lines, sleek. And I'm glad that fondue chinoise is not hundred year old eggs dipped in bubbling cheese

Oh, allow me to add a correction, if I might:
"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them."
The quote comes not from Twain, but from Henry David Thoreau a 19th C. American philosopher. He's also the guy that said the small government is good: "That government is best which governs least."

marshall: thanks! half-evolved people might be better than half-written essays. enjoy marking! xox
Joel A: desperation... that might describe fettuccine!
heipel: come on over and splooge on the chair. I'm sure Y will love that. and yeah, that's a plastic pot, an original Canadian Tire pot, circa 2005. see above for Y's answer.
fashmagslag: omg! I've got to visit the Noguchi meseum. I want to get a Noguchi lamp for my bedroom. and no zillion year old eggs here :P
heipel x2: thanks for the clarification. now go hijack someone's blog, you poli-sci guy!
myke: thanks for dropping by. come back in a few months and I might have dining room furniture!
Y: shuddup! now give me back my laptop!
