Oh my gosh Joe! I think I just gained the 6 pounds I lost simply by eating...*ahem*....um...reading your post! Now if you'll excuse me, I must go change my shirt since I just drooled all over this one!

hey, luscious, i'm salivating...
have you read poppy z brite's blog, or her newer books? if not, you might want to take a look. you write articulately about food; you might appreciate her work. her latest three novels follow the lives and misadventures of two chefs in the new orleans restaurant world. and in her blog, she frequently writes about gastronomic adventures in new orleans (obviously hurricane katrina has fucked everything up down there; poppy and her husband fled to mississippi before the bitch hit) and other cities when she travels. tasty stuff.

after all the weight I've lost --- your post makes me wanna gain it back!
That looks and reads so delicious! Am most jealous. I had a pastrami for dinner and only ate half without the bread. ...but was on a date, so that made it a bit better. ...tho, I had to pay. LOL!!

How do you remember all the details with conversations flowing all over the place?

Ah, photos of food Nice thing about having no flash, and using a low resolution camera phone on those photos is that they turned out to look very much like paintings, not dinner. Most especially the second shot. Quite gorgeous, in fact.

Funny, the tuna sandwich I grabbed at the cantine truck at lunch doesn't seem nearly as appealing as it did.
Actually, what am I saying. There was never anything appealing about it in the first place.

I have a friend named El and I ate Salmon for dinner too. She's my skating buddy. My sister cooked me the salmon. You have an interesting idea of liberation. With such a lovely meal, it is wonderful you had even better things to talk about. Funny dating stories are key.

I think that although the food was allright (minus the rolls, lobster and sweet desserts), the best part of the dinner was to talk with Joe, NoH and eL. That intellectual food was 5 stars!
Next time, why should we pay so much for entertainment? We should eat at a street corner with a hot dog and pigeons... that would make great pictures hehe

Pua, Matt, fashmagslag, dantallion: yeah, the food was really good, and I'd have more if I could.
marshall: thanks, I'll check out the site.
Joel: I wrote most of the post the next day. but I do like to try and recall conversations. practising my ear for dialogue.
heipel: the dishes are quite like works of art.
SirB: company is probably the most important part of any meal. and the waiter really did look like he was trying to save my friend's plate. and he only took her plate, not ours.
Y: good food inspires good conversations. hot dogs next to pigeons inspire indigestion. okay, I do like hot dogs from the hotdog vendors :D I'll meet you at the corner!

I didn't think there could be said so much about food! I'm sure Sugar will agree with you when I make her read this latest insert. I on the other hand must be missing some thing. Oh well I'm kind of hungry now so I'm off to a real fine little place I found...Chez Tim Horton.
