This was one hell of a film fest!!!
I was so excited when I first read this was being made. I think many people have forgotten how very talented Capote was -- he seems to be remembered more for his fey personality and often cruel wit. That novel was so chilling. I will never get it out of my head. I think my favorite Capote work is the novella, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" ...as with most everything he wrote is was way ahead of its time.
I can't wait to see it.
I agree regarding Futterman! Hot! ...and, I'm sorry, but how can this guy not be gay!?!? All of these gay roles and now he's written a film about Truman Capote!?!?!? LOL!
OK, so with Elephant --- which I felt was a brilliant sort of disturbing film poem --- I thought that Van Sant was filming much of it to look like one of those violent video games -- the way the camera tracked the characters thru the halls. Sort of forcing the audience to play a game we don't want to play or participate.
Two friends of mine (also film buffs) disagreed. They felt he was just making the viewer feel as if he/she was walking around the school. ...observing. What do you think?
Also, what did you think of Last Days? I wanted so to like it, but just got annoyed. Tho, I did like the look of it --- I was ready for him to kill himself after the first 20 minutes of mumbling and fumbling about. ...and, I hated the scene where his naked body climbs up to heaven. However, I seem to be in the minority on this.

I'll have to look this one up. I also like to have some subtlety between fact and fiction, and like to play the detective, figuring out who's really telling the story.
