Interesting thoughts. I've never found it hard to become friends with people if I like them. ...I think they usually like me. I think.

As sirbarrett suggested, when my ex and I broke up after 10 years --- it seemed to be harder on our friends than us. They didn't seem to know what to do, say or how to react. so, it came to pass that some decided to be closer to one of us than the other and I found that to be really interesting. ...and, kind of sad. Actually, the whole thing was sad --- but I guess one wouldn't think of that sort of thing as being fun.

i must admit to knowing the same feeling of feeling like an outsider. for me .. it seems that i can't let my guard down very easily and thus i end up missing the chance of mutually opening up with folks. i fear that if i don't learn to do so some time in the future ... i'll be destined to grow old alone. which will surely suck.
