I bought a new TV because the one I had was older than Joan Rivers. And that flat screened beauty gets everything purrfectly EXCEPT 8 and 11. They come and go. The way it is when I watch Nightline? Like I'm at sea during a storm. Then other times, it's like I can see every pore on Cynthia Izzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaquierre's face and every blade of her co-anchor Flannery's red locks.
PS: One thing I learned immediately, being new to digital; Clarice Tinsley looked better in analog.
Rawlins is right...there is an adjustment period to the digital/analog conversion. The new TV's have different aspect ratios, and everything looks so weird for a month or so.
But everyone is complaining about 8 and 11. What gives?
I'll bet if I smarmily crowed, "Oh, but I don't watch TV," I'd be the object of much scorn.

The only time the TV is on, though, is when the kid is watching it. I figure it'll do a good enough job of raising him. Hell, what's it gonna do, turn him into a horny, violent, covetous fellow with shallow personal relationships and the attention span of a garbanzo bean? Solid!
I haven't watched 4, 5, 8, or 11 in years and years and years. Only triple digit channels for me, unless it's 13 PBS (when the HD version is down) or 88 (Turner Classic Movies). I find the glut of ads on the single and double digit channels annoying along with most of their programs.
Digital, smigital....
I am so far out in the country... the the ONLY things available are 5, and 11... and a smattering of UHF channels.
After going through two antennas in a week in attempt to enhance the signal (with no success), I called WFAA's engineer.
He suggested a Winegard HD 7694, which is sold at Frye's, and electronic stores. They run in the 70 dollar range... but it is more than worth it at this point.
He also suggested placing it on a pole outside.
I will do this, as one can only watch so many Judge shows during the day, before sanity starts to ebb away.
