A recent TXU double billing mistake many people suffered coupled with a little Bangalore customer service lie--that the TXU system could in fact generate a corrected bill when it helplessly could and still can not--led to a disconnect notice and near disconnection for a faithfully paying customer of 20-odd years.

The only reasons for this are inept internal control practices (a system hostage to software which cannot generate a bill for payment upon demand) and impossible to communicate with customer service.

While TXU Customer Service technically speaks English, it is the strange, autistic English of a Samuel Beckett monologue, great looping flights of pointless syntax launched of their own accord with respect to nothing in particular, responding to nothing in particular, particularly nothing in particular the customer might have said, before collapsing back into themselves like the graceful fall of a leaping humpback whale, or of a solar flare rejoining its home in the Sun, or of the neck of a Klein bottle, twisting through unknowable topological dimensions before finally fusing with its own narcissistic belly.

In one strange, casual moment of eagerly craning its pointy little customer service head into the path of a speeding bus TXU destroyed a loyal 20-year customer relationship.
