I wondered also whether Mr. O'Donnell has read our Declaration of Independence.

That has to be a new left-wing religion.
Lawrence O'Donnell doesn't think that God wants free. So I suppose he thinks the Devil wants us to be free.

O'Donnell pretty obviously denies humanity was divinely granted free will. How else can you deny Man's right to be free? It's not merely an insulting comment it's blasphemous.
And while were recommending reading assignments to fatuous, arrogant cretins, how about Thomas Mann or Rudyard Kipling?

O'Donnell sounded so angry when talking about God. I don't understand this wacko liberal stance.

Rats! I'm mad that Maynard (above) beat me to the Declaration of Independence reference.
We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endoweb by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness...
So, would O'Donnell acuse Thomas Jefferson of being a lightweight?

"would O'Donnell acuse Thomas Jefferson of being a lightweight?"
Yes he would. Over the past few years the Democrats have silently cut their ties to history. While Republicans proudly call themselves the "Party of Lincoln," the Dems have stopped referring to Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Woodrow Wilson and Harry Truman. FDR gets a mention when talking about war or welfare. JFK is mentioned when talking about Camelot. Carter is pulled out when dealing with humanitarian issues.
Modern Liberalism has lost its roots. Jefferson would be apalled that the voice of the voter is now drowned out by the voice of judges. Jackson would be apalled that a country founded on individualism is being eviscerated and replaced with the nanny state.
Truman and Wilson were anti-tyranny and pro-freedom for all peoples of the world.
It is the party of Lincoln that now stands up for the ideals that these other great and visionary men themselves stood up for.

I, for one, was happy to hear O'Donnell's remarks. He came across as spiteful, petty, arrogant, and condescending in his attacks on Bush's beliefs and on believers in general. Seems like a great way to help get out the conservative base.
You know, the Left is so strange in some ways. They seem to be willing to do and say anything to win at all costs. Yet they have these moments, when they seem to lose track of winning, when they will say the stupidest things, just to be mean or to feel smart or something. I sometimes think humans must have a self-destruct gene, and that it's dominant in liberals.

The LLL despise anyone who believes in G-d in any form. Why?
Because in most religions and religious teachings there are concepts that "chills, frightens and scares" the LLL. It is the concept of taking responsibility for your actions and there may be consequences for those actions. The LLL believes that everyone should do as they please (as long as it conforms to the LLL's version of Utopia) without punishment. To the LLL the concept of morality, that some things are just plain wrong, is like Garlic to a Vampire.
The LLL believes that to have "winners" and "losers" is hateful and damaging to a person's "self esteem" and makes them a "victim". They think that it is unfair for someone who works hard to have things that someone who is lazy does not (unless it comes to THEIR things, of course.)
