That's really wrong that people would flame you because you didn't like a book. I guess I have been lucky on this respect. There has been several books I ripped good but even people who didn't agree with me respected my opinion.
Nah...I don't think that anyone is obligated to give a good review just because the copy of the book is free. I look at it as basically an exchange - a free copy of a book in exchange for honest feedback.
If it happens to be a good book that you can give an honestly positive review for, then hey - bonus!

Kathy: Well, I kinda did deserve it, the book wasn't all bad but I focused only on the bad stuff, and I was quite snarky and bitchy with my review too. I stand by my opinions, of course, but I think I could've been more polite about them.
