I've discussed the possibilty of my Husband venturing out on his own. He's a bit hesitant because he has only done IT at his current job. He feels that a bit more experience will provide some much needed confidence and provide him with some key insight to being able to develop a successful business model.
I agree with you about starting up a business doing things you love. I'm a Photographer with my own darkroom. I have a skill and commodity that is quickly becoming a thing of the past (tradionally printed photos as opposed to digital media) and is often sought after. With Nikon's decision to phase out their film cameras, Minolta's decision to do away with their camera line altogether, galleries have started to charge more for traditional prints rather then digital media.
as soon as time permits, I will be starting to market myself with that in mind.
