Commentoria!

Gravatar When I was a kid my favorite was M&Ms and my least favorite was those stupid dum dum lollipops! My goal, little OCD thing that I was, was to make my Halloween candy last until Easter. So I would count my pieces and the days and figure out how much I could eat to make it last.

Gravatar Favorite: Reeses cups
Horrific: Mary Janes
I used to give my dad the worst, then I would work my way from least favorite to best. I have always been a little Puritan at heart, haven't I? Delayed gratification just comes natural!

Gravatar I can teach you to make a damn fine white sauce.

My favourite halloween candy was charms blow pops. Something about all that gooey gum surrounded by teeth cracking candy..oooohwee, I sure do miss those!

Gravatar Coffee Crisps (only available in Canada) are my favourite halloween treats. I used to buy a bag of them and stash them in my office desk, to last until the Christmas chocolates came out.

My least favourite candy is licorice because I ate waaaay too much of it at one sitting when I was a kid.

Gravatar To this day Snickers is my all time fave. But really when it came down to it anything chocolate was tops and all fruity things went to the bottom of the pile.

Gravatar Ooo! We have kitty litter cakes! I never thought to give those out! What a fun contest, yay! Let's see, favorite candy was Hershey's Chocolate bars-extra points for almonds! Least fave, those pesky apples with razor blades inside! I myself, have never received one, but they're definitely not my favorite.

Gravatar Do you remember those disgusting wax lips? And those tiny wax "bottles" with 3 drops of koolaid or some crap inside? I remember puking off of wax lips one time. Perhaps I wasn't the brightest kid and tried to eat them?

My most clever way to score the best of a kid's halloween candy is to ask for something (anything), then I ask the kid to pick what he wants me to have. Every time that kid'll give me the choicest chocolate, not the stupid dum dums. Go figure.

Yeah, dum dums really DID suck. Funny.

Gravatar Candy corn and reeses cups are fantastic.. least favorite are the generic chocolates that have marshmallow or coconut in them. Blech. Marshmallow stuff takes too much effor to eat for halloween candy.

Gravatar My favorite is Smarties (American Smarties, that is... I confuse my husband with that all the time).

I think I hated Mary Janes the most... *yuck*

Gravatar Favourite? Dairy Milk (plain milk chocolate) and the MacIntosh Caramel bars (just slabs of plain toffee). Most hated? Oh Henry and Baby Ruth -- my dad got all of those.

Gravatar Reeses were and still are Halloween Mecca to me. My least favorite were those hard and cheap little peanut-flavored taffy things wrapped in black or orange waxed paper. Guess what was handed out at our house?

Gravatar Candy corn! I loooove candy corn. And carmel apples but people are too cheap to give those out.

Gravatar My favorites at Halloween are the mini Snickers and mini Hershey bars. When my boys used to go trick-or-treating, they were forbidden to eat any while out and about. We had to look it over first. Then, after they ate a bit, it all went into an ice cream bucket in the cupboard above the fridge. Every night after dinner they would each get to pick out one piece. I was [usually] honorable about not stealing any of it for myself without asking.

Gravatar Least favorite- malted milk balls, yuck, runner up least favorite- gummy spearmint leaves. You couldn't trade these away, no one would take them. Or if they did take them, it was only to pelt you with them. Old people seemed to give out these (anyone over 50 was ancient, LOL)

The good stuff, anything chocolate, especially a full sized Snickers bar. The full sized bars were a valuable trading commodity.

Gravatar I have to say that for me it is Reeses and the peanut butter taffies in the orange or black wrappers.

YUM

Gravatar My most favorite treats were the big-name candy bars: Snickers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, Reese's, even Zero (I loved Zero bars!).

My least favorite "treats" were pennies, wax lips (thanks for reminding me, Lisa), stale Bazooka gum, and those godawful peanut butter taffy hunks in the black and orange wrappers. That's not peanut. I don't know what that is.

Gravatar Hi Carrie --- I have a couple of really great books that are kind of nerdy, but you can learn everything about the chemistry, etc of cooking.
