GREAT sock! Never cared much for it before, but I might with your mods. I think it's the same as the monkey socks - several-row repeat that's interesting makes you want to "just finish this repeat" and then "just another row" and then "oh, I'll just finish this repeat"... And lo, finished socks.

Is the yarnover an increase? If so, you could do a lifted increase instead and get rid of the hole.
